It's easy to trash Jonathan Quick when he gives up 7 goals but when you have Matt Greene, Robyn Regehr and Willie Mitchell on your defense, three guys who have lost steps, it's easy to see why a game like this went out of hand - so STFU to everyone talking trash about him, he's still the best goalie in the league - he was the main reason the Kings won the cup that year and he's still as good as anyone - I'm sure most people on this board would rather have him than their current goalie

:L

He's damn good. The best? No.

No, but when you give up 12 goals in 2 games, I think some of the blame has to go on the goalie, not just the defense around him. He's not the best in the league, Quick fans need to stop living in the past.

0.910 save percentage (reg season) since 2012-13 ... puts him at 26th of the 33 goalies who have played in over 50 NHL games during that time period

27th and 28th on that list are Devan Dubnyk and Evgeni Nabokov with a 0.907 save %

sorry ... ill stop bringing up actual documented stats

who is the best?

I dunno... lol

Not to be a homer but I think Rask is better than Quick. But I don't know who the best goalie in the league would be. For this season in particular I think the Vezina should def be Rasks.

This guy Matt from Vancouver is pretty damn good I hear.

People love bringing up regular season stats but Jonathan Quick has done a lot more in the playoffs than some of the other so-called great goalies and you guys know EXACTLY who I'm talking about and I'm not bringing him up because you know who I mean

The saying goes, "You earn your paycheck in the regular season, you earn your reputation in the playoffs"

Hes better when he has 4 pints in him :D

That is the thing about that position you can win a cup win a conn smythe be the best goalie in the world then the year after you are back to being Cam Ward.

Rask was the best then he lost to the Hawks
Thomas was the best and now he is a backup in Dallas
Luongo until the Finals
Brodeur until age
Lundqvist until wait... he hasnt even been to a final yet

there is no best goalie in the world anymore its just who is the best today and it will be different tomorrow.

Yea, I agree. Being a goalie is tough. It's easy to think a goalie is great if he has a defensive wall built around him, it's easy to call a great goalie shit when he has no help in front of him... There are so many factors that go into a goalie being consistent and/or riding a hot streak.

But still... All that being said, Rask > Quick, IMHHO (in my honest homer opinion)

He looked lost last night, couldn't stop a beachball. He was clearly rattled.

Say Lundqvist, I know you want to. Do it, i'd still take Hank over Quick any day of the week, hell it's getting to the point where i'd take Bob over Quick. Quick is a shadow of his former self, and it's shown through the first two games. Fact of the matter is, Kings were outmatched in this series, I said it from the start and i'll say it again. This is a different Sharks team from what we've seen in this past, they have one of the best offense's in the league, their defense is very underrated, Niemi, is just as underrated, Kings are getting exposed.

While I agree about this being by far their best and deepest lineup as well as a very underrated D lets not say the kings were outmatched in the series yet. Only 2 games in. They are so tough in LA just like Sharks are tough at the tank.

That said, it appears the sharks forechecking and speed is too much so I'd like to hope they can win at least 1 of games 3 and 4.

I watched a lot of Sharks games this year, you probably watching more, i'm assuming. I've just been impressed with their strong play all year long, I think they had a clear advatnage coming into this series and I stand by that. I know you don't wanna be a big homer and agree and wanna give some credit to the Kings lol but I just think, this was your series to lose.

if i may........

Maybe we are looking at this argument wrong and putting too much focus on Awards and Championships.

Honestly, how i judge the Best is simple.

If you have nothing to very little in front of you and you still make it to the Post season.

With that being said

My pick for the best is Seregi Bob

Yeah no doubt what you're saying is spot on. This rivalry though leaves you hesitant til you win a road game so I'm cautiously optimistic.

But like you said really anyways whose seen this team play enough had a very good idea of just how deep and dangerous this team could be when fully healthy. I mean shit havlat and Kennedy are healthy scratches.

It was mystifying to me not that some people picked the kings but that literally 75-80% of experts we're picking them when SJ has home ice. That's the part that fooled me.

Great to see that you're someone who actually closely follows the west coast game and knows that the sharks actually are a tough match up for LA.
