anyone know the answer to this? I noticed the clock change after the niners took the timeout with 38 secs on the clock. then poof, more than that on the clock after the next play

I noticed this as well. And the commentators didn’t say anything about it.

Think it refers to Deebo Samuel 3rd down run... as I remember both game and play clocks having time changed after measurement (thank you NFL GamePass for allowing me to review today :D ).

Deebo run:
- Play started at 1:21 mark on game clock
- Original play on field play stopped at 1:00 mark for measurement and play clock was at 29 seconds already (started running when ruled down)
- Deebo´s knee actually down at 1:14 mark on game clock
- Referees added 4 seconds to the game clock to 1:04, if they would have left play clock at 29 seconds that appears to be correct decision
- Deebo down at 1:14 on game clock
- Play clock at 29 (maybe should be 30) and 10 seconds ran off towards next play already

Instead the referees moved the play clock to 25 seconds... 15 seconds gone on the play clock for next play already. That would indicate Deebo was down at 1:19 on game clock... obviously that was not the case and prior play started at 1:21 mark... clearly was not a 2 second play.

Regarding the punt you are referring to... called timeout at 38-39 second mark. Referees put the clock back to 40 seconds. Does appear 1 second was added there as well.

Meh. He isn't the one that had the team un-motivated and not prepared at the start of that game and Moore sure can't be blamed for the many penalties that cost them. Lack of discipline is on McCarthy, imo.

You may be right, it starts with the head coach, but there were a lot of little things that went wrong and some of that may be on the coordinator and whatever kind of situational game planning they did throughout the season.

Normally I'd be thrilled to beat Dallas and Jerry Jones but I'm so angry at their mental weakness with all the pre-snap penalties at the end and for what they put me through today.
It's the playoffs, Wins are all that matter, it doesn't matter how ugly it was. As a fan I would take 3 ugly ass wins all the way to the Super Bowl with no complaints.

I was referring to the clock just before the final play. The refs set it to 0:38, then I looked up and it was set to 0:40 or 0:42 (I don’t remember exactly). Maybe that isn’t what the tweet was referring to, but that was what I was referring to.

Seemed to be some home-field malfeasance going on. Some hanky-panky. Some Shenanigans.

huge, if he can play next week. Bosa back would be an important bonus too, hard to say with head injuries tho

That one on Bosa was scary. Hope he's okay and good to go. The Niners are a rival, for sure but would love to see them go into Green Bay and kick Rodgers and companies teeth in. And for whoever wins tonight ( hoping for Cards) to go to Tampa and knock off Brady.
