It does happens all the time. Again, dont worry about the stats. He is playing against one of the best defenses on a team rife with injuries and no motivation. So, yeah, his stats may look poor. But to those that know (and I don’t claim to be one), they can see how he plays. Can he go through his progressions timely Or does he lock on one receiver? Is he situationally aware? Does he have natural pocket prsesence? It’s those intangibles that make or break QBs in the nfl. Hell, they can all throw and most now a days can run. But does he know when to run? Does he know when to throw it away?

What I don’t expect is is for him to be able pre read defenses or set protection consistently. With our line, expect a handful of sacks. I also expect his timing with his receivers to be off. So his % completion my be low. I also expect him to only pass 20-25 times. We will see a heavy dose on Robinson.
Robinson is out

You crowned Wentz before he took his first snap here. You didn't listen to anything anyone else said about Wentz. You downplayed every win the Skins had with Taylor using any excuse you could to justify why Taylor won games and Wentz didn't. You, dean, you were crowning people.

I stated multiple times in the off season anybody but TH. Yes, I thought we upgraded at QB, and I wanted to see CW play more than 6 games. That has failed. So, we are moving on. TH has proved time and time again he is not a starting nfl qb. I realized this after the 2021 season. That is why i was happy when we got Wentz. As of right now the move failed.

Dean, what breed is saying is correct.
Literally everyone here said TH is a back up in the NFL. He is a limited qb as we all know.
That being said, the commanders play better when he is in the game. I cannot explain it but the facts and numbers support that.

Rivera essentially did the wrong thing for the right reasons when he traded for Wentz. The idea of getting a starting qb was spot on, however, wentz was never the right answer period. You were over excited to get wentz and I think you would admit that. Many fans and posters thought the team was a qb away. That was not the case either.
Again, that qb was never going to be carson wentz. Wentz was not the answer for a million reasons and his tenure here flames out after 7 games. He progressively got worse as the season played out. I read an article that says he might be out of the league next year. I would not sign him even as a back up if I was an NFL team. He is that bad and makes the most bizarre decisions in a game.
I would wager that TH stays in the league longer than wentz actually. I think the commanders are the last team that will try to fix him. You might not know that you were doing it, but you did crown wentz as the savior of the team many times. I do think TH moves on from here and secures a back up role somewhere. He might be a version of chase Daniel. He is all class and heart.

No need to relive the past. I agree with your statement in that it is time to move on.
Hopefully we strike gold with our next qb or we find out we struck gold with howell. Something has to work out for this team. We have to break the cycle or snap the curse..whatever it is that has plagued this team with a quarterback.

of course, i was excited when we acquired CW b/c I knew what we had in TH. I admit CW didn't work out. I wanted Howell in there when CW got hurt. If he went to Howell at that time, we would already know what type of QB he is. RR drafted him for a reason. Now we only have one game to evaluate Howell.

I would liked to have seen howell earlier as you said.

His play could have dictated the off-season strategy. Now we are going in based off assumptions of 1 game and a year of practices.

Rivera gave TH a go and the team rallied as we know. Looking back, as we are out-of the playoffs, yes, it would have been nice to start Howell after wentz got hurt to see what we had. I don't think he was ready and hindsight is 20/20. It was impossible to know what our record would be at the end of the season. I do think howell could be the answer. As discussed, I want 3 new olineman and a starting te on the off-season. I doubt that all happens but it would give howell everything he needs on the field. If he flops, then we can say that we literally simply need a qb.

This is assuming that turner is gone as well. Turner needs to go back to the high school or college ranks.

I think Leno gets released and we draft a LT. The northwestern guy or Ohio st guy. Get a new LG, then we have the rookie LT, new LG, Roullier, Wes, and Cosmi. As far as QB it will be Howell and a vet QB in FA.

when healthy both guys are fine. Wes was playing out of position at center.

I agree with this.
We have major issues on the oline.
We simply cannot draft 3 or 4 olineman in the draft. We will have to lean on free agency.
I think we see 3 new olineman this year and wait until 2024 to secure the 4th.
I see us signing 2 via free agency and drafting our LT in round 1 like Dean said.
Centers are less expensive so I see a LG and center in free agency with a lt in round 1.

Round 2 needs to be cb if at all possible.
Round 3 needs to be LB if at all possible.

There again, we cannot reach and we might simply draft oline multiple times in the early rounds. The board will dictate what is done.
What we know is that we need help at oline, LB, and cb badly.

I see free agency bringing us a te, qb, 2 olineman and general depth.
Who knows though. With a critical off-season, I wish we had our future gm in place. I want Rivera to stay away from making any more catastrophic decisions that lead in failure.

I dont see TE as a need. I think the team needs to figure out how to ise the TE they have.

Qb, OL, LB are the major needs of this team. Cb is a fourth need, but not as much as the other three.

The team is misusing its cb’s too, in my opinion.

I watched Howell a few times while he was at NC. He has a great arm, can run with ball and is tough as nails. I was excited when Washington got him in the 5th round.

I hope he does well today. He has talent. Excited to see him play
It is good to see the board all united like this.
This is how it should be. I freely admit I can be argumentative from time to time...lol

Go howell...go commanders!!!
