By the way Blue and White. Kudos to the Leafs for fighting like hell until the end. They never gave up and beat some damn good teams trying to get in.

I mean... it's not Pittsburgh-Washington or anything...
That's the problem. If those teams get eliminated early then the casual hockey fan has no clue what team and players they are watching. They see commercials and shit all the time about certain teams and that's all they know.
Every year there are surprises in the NHL playoffs and some teams get bounced early and if all they have seen all years are a handful of teams they will not have any interest in the remaining teams even if some of them do have top players.
Look at Vancouver, some outstanding players on that team but because "casual" fans have only seen three or four teams they can't relate to them.
The NHL does a TERRIBLE job of showcasing ALL of the talented players.

would love to have seen lemaire back earlier in the season.Atleast we didn't tank the season and had something to be proud of.

Believe it or not, but this game was actually played in Carolina, and not in Buffalo. I guess the plan to buy up all the tickets to keep the Sabres fans away from the game didn't work out so well.
