I jank on Ford all the time. He knows i'm joshing with him. He changed my damn avy and a few weeks ago and had me thinking I had took too much Ambien and changed it myself the next day.


I really did come here to see you guys' opinion on Williams. He looked pretty good the few times I saw him in the preseason. I wanted to see some of your opinions on how he did since he only made the PS (which is still better than nothing).

I actually wanted him to make the 53 & us send randle packing myself.
But since that didn't happen I am glad we got him on the practice squad.
Figure now it is only a matter of time where he replaces Randle (so I hope)

No prob than. Who'd of thunk a Eagles fan could troll here and not get called on it. I guess it's simply the right time, or we have others taking our attention.

FYI, I do see the Eagles as the favorite in the NFCE but it not guaranteed. Hell I can see each team with a shot. Yes even the skids.

He is a 1 or a 4 RB, meaning he is a starter or the Psquad guy. If Murray gets hurt I think he goes to starter. Dunbar is a specialist sort of- 5-7 touches a game. Randle can play special teams. Williams cant do that just yet. Hopefully he will continue to improve at it.

That makes sense. Williams has also not proven to be able to stay off of a surgery table for more than a year either. It really sucks for him. Of all the good rushers us Hokies have seen suit up for VT over the years, most all think Williams was the best. Sucks to have someone with that kind of talent but to not be able to contribute because of injuries.

I'm hoping right there with ya. I just hope he stays healthy. His time is running short if he can't stay on the field. Teams will not keep signing him in hopes of him staying healthy.

I was really just trying to draw a little smartassery back from Ford. Didn't realize things had gotten so testy. The Eagles could be good this year, but this is the NFL so you never really know. All teams have holes, and some of the Eagles' are conducive to being exploited in today's NFL. I'm just ready for some more foozeball.

Considering any team can steal him without giving compensation I don't see where who's on the PS is such a big deal. He's nice insurance if we have an injury but we could lose him tomorrow if another team has need for a RB.

IMO opinion he's not that good, that's not saying the bottom of the current roster is all that much better, in fact if someone argues Sam is better than some on the 53 man roster I won't fight that. Now as long as he's on the PS he only helps the team in practice. He can't sack the other teams QB if he not on the game day roster.

Maybe an injury brings him up and he proves me wrong. But as of now he's nothing more than a PS guy.

Im with Manster, I don't think Sam has anything to offer at the NFL level unless he is able to beef up and maintain speed.

But I see this as a no risk opportunity. Put him on the 53 because we need guys there, and if he does end up helping then good for us. If he never does anything, well, isn't that what a vast majority of PS players do...nothing?

One thing about this that could upset me is players we didn't sign as we went after Sam...and that is Jackson Jeffcoat. He was sitting out there, and I'm not sure if he was even willing to sign with us but I would rather have had him on this PS than Sam, if it was ever an option.

From what I heard they had no interest at all in Jeffcoat, even after Sea cut him. I never understood why. I thought he should have been a 5th round pick and he wasn't even drafted. If I remember there was something that turned up in the physical, but for practice squad who cares about that...
