Pretty soon every NHL team is going to be icing a roster of AHL call-ups. This might be the year we have a Leafs-Oilers SCF!
Jim Hughson was gushing over Jay Rosehill during last night's Wings - Leafs game. What the hell?
Why, was Jay dragging his knuckles in an exceptional manner last night?
That might be a Shanaban
This is just getting funny now.

:confused2:
Ridiculous is more like it.
If the players are having a hard time catching on that Shanahan is not fucking around, perhaps adding on a few games for stupidity will get the message across.
I say Malone gets at least 5 games, going by recent trends.
I dont get why the players are still doing the hits. Its almost like they're trying to see how many has to go until Shanny gives up. Or is it really more just a wussing down of the sport?
I was on another board and they were saying Campoli had his head down and got what he deserved. If you take a look at the replay, he got slashed and hooked prior to Malone lowering the boom. You're going to have your head down in that situation trying to find the puck especially when you're the last man back.
Why were you cheating on me?
I keep this place clean, make everybody coffee, tuck Pops in to bed, and hell, I've even made fun of Kotalikmyballs for you.....and this is the thanks I get!!:smow:
Maybe if you weren't such a prude we wouldn't have to go elsewhere!
It's a combination of things, but it's not the wussing down of the sport. Remember after the lockout when they really did crack down on obstruction and holding? Every year since '97 or '98, the league would say at the beginning of the season "all right boys, we mean business this year; no more obstruction!". Then they wouldn't do shit. Finally when they actually started cracking down for real in '05, the players were so used to the old style of play that it took over a year to adjust to the new enforcement of the rules. The first few months were tedious to watch, and it took a long time for everything to settle down. You had guys who were born and raised in the clutch and grab era, who had been holding and hooking guys since high school. You had guys in their 30's who had 15 years of NHL obstruction-style hockey under their belts who now had to change their game on the fly. At that point, it was instinct.
Now we have a similar situation, we have guys who have progressively gotten bigger, faster, stronger, taller, and a game that has sped up every year for the past six years while respect for one another has steadily gone down. Respect, IMO, has reached an all-time low while the players and the game itself has never been faster. Guys just aren't used to the new rules. It might take weeks to adjust, it might take all season. But in the long run the game will be better for it.
Out of curiosity when was the last time you (or anyone) heard a ref call an obstruction penalty?
