Ryan Malone about to be Shanabanned

I agree with Shanahan on this one. It was more of a hockey incident than a deliberate hit to the head. But I'm still kind of surprised he didn't get a game.

I like how Shanny explains his decisions (such a nice change from Colie), but the fact that Campoli was being hooked from behind caused him to lose the puck and it's only instinct to reach for a puck in your own zone as a defenseman.

I just don't like the fact that Malone didn't get at least one game because he also escapes the "repeat offender" status.

Hmm, I wonder what Shanny's old pal Yzerman said to get Malone off the hook. I mean, his hit was three times worse than MacArther's yet he got 4 games total.
