Russ has never been surrounded by so much shooting and an elite rim runner.

It’ll be fun to see if he adjusts.

Harden will destroy people on open kick outs

Nah.

Neither will average a triple double.

Both players score too many unassisted buckets for that. Neither is a catch and shoot guy.

Agreed on the triple doubles, Russ sure looks good on catch and shoots to me though. Maybe it’s because he looks so bad shooting off the dribble. We just haven’t got to see much of it, and probably still won’t.

This seems even more true with RW and Harden together for two more years, possibly 3 more years.

Not sure you can fix this roster either...they tried it last year and it backfired in a big way. Even the core role players are coming back next year, minus Rivers.

Yeah I mean they can do some little things to improve it but they still have Kawhi/PG and Lebron/AD in the West. Add in Luka/Zinger. The West is tough. I feel the biggest backfire was trading Capela.

They can tweak.

But the tweaking they did last year made them worse.

IMO, if they still had CP3 and Capella, and had somehow been able to land Covington, they would be right there with the Lakers and Clippers.

You know, like they were with the Warriors last 2 years.

Don’t forget the Warriors.

I think they were correct to trade Capela given the roster they had at the time they made the deal.

He and Russ made an awkward fit.

It was the Russ trade that set them back the most, IMO.

Yeah, I mean he was going to cost a lot but they still need some type of big man. They literally have no big men...imo you can't win a championship that way, even if they want to play kinda small. I feel they ONLY made that move bc of the Warriors and now they face AD and Lebron lol. No rim protectors, that backfired.

It is interesting though.

The Lakers are the better team.

But The shots have been there for the making. The Rockets style does pose challenges for LA. They have to hit their shots though. And they have really only shot well 2 games out of 4.

the thing about that is harden will never win a title either
If Harden is the #2 on a team he could win a title. He can't as the lead guy though.

I think the way they have defended Harden has a lot to do with it. Those hard traps force him to get rid of the ball much earlier than they're used to and it gets their offense out of rhythm. So even though the shots are open, they're not in their usual rhythm and there's usually someone running at them when they're shooting it.

They're also worn down, which we've seen from them every year in the playoffs as well.

I miss the "winner" rating. It's different than "like"

Again, he almost did. They needed 1 more break in 2018 and this would have been proven wrong.

So not really fair to say he can’t because he hasn’t.

LeBron Jordan couldn’t win rings either until they did.
