Mets manager Terry Collins said Monday that Matt Harvey's status for Opening Day is suddenly in question.
Collins would not divulge further details, only saying that Harvey's "arm is fine." The right-hander has been scratched from his scheduled Grapefruit League start Tuesday against the Marlins, which would have served as a final tuneup for the regular season. Mets GM Sandy Alderson also addressed the media on Monday, but would only say that it was a non-baseball health issue. There is apparently an appointment scheduled with team doctors for Monday evening, though it's unclear what they might be examining. Odd stuff, but we've come to accept odd stuff with the Mets. The baseball part of it aside, here's hoping for the best.
