Here is a perfect illustration of my point that shooting percentage trumps everything else in The NBA.

In last night's games the team that shot the highest percentage won 7 out of 8.
The team that took the most shots was just 1 out of 8.
That means all of those things that gets a team more shots like rebounding and steals is less important than running an efficient offense and playing disruptive defense.

That said, the lone exception in last night's 8 games was Oklahoma City, they shot a lower percentage and took more shots and still won. So Westbrook beat the odds, that takes special ability.

No, but to me it makes it less impressive than Kareem's done in 48 minutes.
As I said, still amazing.

Kareem played in an era where great centers dominated and Westbrook plays in an era where speed and athleticism dominates, so both achieved what they did in favorable times.

Who can blame them ? I hated to see Durant jump ship, the trend to form all star teams is f..ked up.
It creates an interesting dynamic though. The only way to combat these all-star teams in all reality, is to create one of your own. Teams now are probably playing to be good enough to become one of those spots where it's possible. It's gonna continue to make free agency exciting as hell for those fans of teams that are possibly in line to become the next superteam.

I want Westbrook to win MVP, get a top 5 seed and to prove that he can lead a team.

But, nothing he did yesterday made me think any of that will become a reality.

He was horribly selfish, launching brick after brick.

Apologists, please spare me the " he has no help " excuses.

* See Anthony Davis stats.

I'm a fan of his game when he plays the right way.

51 points on 44 shots is horrific.

But, he would of had his triple double in regulation had his Teammates hit one of the few shots he allowed them to take.

With that being said, The fact that Olidipo was the only other guy to get double digit shots is just rude.

Playing the "right way" with that roster would lead to 60 losses.

Westbrook's greatness is the only thing that can help them get into the playoffs, just like Kobe in 06 with Kwame, Smush, and Luke starting.

Westbrook shot 44 times and got 50 points, that's horrible efficiency. But go ahead and act like this is sustainable for long-term success.

You're delusional if you think that roster can do anything with Westbrook not being otherworldly.

They wouldn't win 10 games without Westbrook...they'd probably have the worst record of all time.

My money is on Westrbrook for MVP.

Love the idea of getting to watch him be "the man" for an entire season.

Impossible. I was told that this was a title roster that KD left.

If the Thunder had Tebow they'd be unstoppable.

OKC's better off missing the playoffs and getting a high lottery pick to let Presti work his magic.

This roster has a ceiling of 6-8 seed.

Watched the entire game last night. Dude takes way too many unnesesary, sloppy shots.

I showed the stats on all 8 NBA games from last night.
In 7 of them the winning team shot the higher percentage and took fewer shots than the losing team.
The ONLY exception was Oklahoma City's game. They took more shots and hit a lower percentage than their opponent, but they still won.
My point is, they likely won because of him.
It won't change their fate, they will lose most of these games. It does show he likely doesn't have much choice.

Allen Iverson stats. HOF but no ring. Thunder better surround RW with what he needs.

I'm hearing grumbling of an Enis Kanter for Blake Griffin trade. If that happens Okc would be the most athletic team in the league with Russ, Olodipo, and Griffin.
