I heard they're looking to trade.
And pick up a receiver later on in the draft.
Which pleases me as a Vikings fan.

if they could sign a reciever in free agency this might all work out.

if Desean Jackson hits the market they would have to get him, Jackson's speed would work perfect with Griffin's ability to throw the ball deep.

I say they should trade up, and get a big time receiver too.

As a Vikings fan you should be VERY pleased and feel VERY lucky to be in this position. The Vikes will get at a minimum 2 firsts and a combo of 2nd/3rd/4th round picks IMO. While I hate to give up that much, many of us Redskin fans are tired of not having a franchise QB and starting the season with Rex Grossman's. In the end I think Cleveland ends up with him...

I will post this again....

I am coming to grips with the trade. The price was steep for sure, but the Redskins almost had to make this move. Quarterbacks make this league, and are few and far between.

Three things make this a bit less of a risk than it would have been 5 years ago:

1. The rookie salary structure will protect th Redskins in paying for him. He will make 20 million over four years, not 50 million. If he is a bust, it does not kill us long term.

2. The Redskins have at least 41 million to spend to fill some holes. They need a couple of receivers, and O lineman, but they are set at LT and C, and have a few young wideouts with experience (Hankerson, Paul, Austin). Hopefully Chris Cooley is back, 100%, or they need to re-sign Fred Davis (which they likely will). A tight end is a quarterback's best friend and those are two good ones.

3. The Redskins are not a terrible team. They have a solid front seven in defense and exceptional pass rushers in Orakpo and Kerrigan. They are not a complete disaster of a team. This is a team that beat the Giants twice last year.

Do I like the move, it is to early to tell. I want to see how the Redskins spend their money first. Apparently, if it was not going to be the two firsts, it was going to have to be Orakpo and/or Kerrigan. Fuck that. I will trade draft picks before young studs anyday. It is a risk, and it was expensive, but hell, it may work.

Not that it won't work out but Robert Griffin III QB 6-2 has to throw over the offense which consists of.
Balmer, Kentwan DE 6-5
Brown, Jammal OT 6-6
Carriker, Adam DE 6-6
Chester, Chris G 6-3
Cook, Erik C/G 6-6
Cooley, Chris TE 6-3
Davis, Fred TE 6-4
Golston, Kedric DE 6-4
Hurt, Maurice G 6-3
Lichtensteiger, Kory G/C 6-2
Locklear, Sean OT 6-4
McCaskill, Nevin G 6-3
Montgomery, Will C/G 6-3
Myers, Rob TE 6-4
Paulsen, Logan TE 6-5
Polumbus, Tyler OT 6-8
Quinn, Richard TE 6-4
Williams, Trent OT 6-5
I Think this will abstract his view of the field.
He also will need to put on a little weight.

Yep agree. They had to make this move 46..and I am glad they are going all in with this guy. Every single QB (and player for that matter) has bust potential, some more than others. This guy seems like a quality athlete, with a big strong arm that at the very least doesnt have character issues. If I was going to risk it on someone, it would be someone like him.

He is a tad undersized if you are looking at some of the "new age" NFL QB's (Roethlisberger, Mannings etc.) but he is far from being too small. He will be throwing alot outside of the pocket anyways. I don't think his size will be a problem at all. 6'2" 223lbs is not big..but is not at too small either.

How often do you expect him to be throwing from the pocket though. Also, ignore tackle heights because they seal the edges and are not going to be in his line of sight, if he is in the pocket.
