LOL - manhandled by Evan Engram - 30 pounds lighter. The Giants really got a good player in Engram.

50 lbs right?

Engram is 230
Walker is 280

DC criticizes my spelling - now Doc criticizes my math - I obviously post here to make myself a better person. :)

There were 2 main players in this entire draft that I was willing to pound the table that we need to get them. Engram was one of them and Carlos Henderson was the other.

Once I learned of some of the info on Ramczyk and Robinson I was hoping we would take Bolles in the 1st but he wasn't exactly a guy I was willing to put all my eggs in one basket for. I think he will be good but Engram and Henderson are 2 guys that I would bank on being huge impact guys from the get go.

Putting into context Walker's limited lateral athleticism. I had been digging into his pro day times (since he didn’t participate in the field drills at the combine) and his lateral agility drills were putrid (20 yard shuttle and 3 cone drill).

These numbers are from his pro day, not the combine
3 Cone: 7.91 (the 9th percentile against all DLine at the combine historically)
20 Yard Shuttle: 4.71 (the 6th percentile against all DLine at the combine historically)
He did do well in his jumps though, specifically the broad jump

I did further digging on his 3 cone and from what I could tell, it is one of the worst ever for a player 280 lbs or less. Only 6 players since they started recording and keeping times at the combine had 7.91 or slower 3 cone drills; Darrell Adams Villanova 2006, Rod Kelly Northeastern State 2001, Isaac Hilton, Hampton, 2004, Rod Coleman, East Carolina, 1999, Bernard Thomas, Nebraska, 2005, and Clifton Washburn, Citadel, 2003.

While a three cone won't make or break him as a player, but it is worth mentioning as I think it is one of the more important and applicable combine measurements and Walker did poorly here. In context with his film though, it makes sense. Good going forward but ask him to set an edge or move laterally and it’s not great…

Hey - he makes up for it by not being very strong.
