Nothing against The Dude, but that is sacrilege.
The soundtrack, the fantasy sequence, ALL the Spicoli quotes...
My old man is a television repairman. He's got this ultimate set of tools. I can fix this.
You can't fix this, Spicoli!!
[pause] I can fix this.

Those guys claimed they never did any drugs, which is pretty hard to believe considering...
You know, I was thinkin' about that Mr. Hand, and if you're here...and I'm here...isn't it really like OUR time. And nothin' wrong with a little pizza on OUR time....

I can almost believe that with HG, LOB, and FCW, but NO WAY with MOL.
HG, LOB and FCW are way to cerebral to be drug induced. MOL is just one long trip.
As I said, outside of Spicoli that movie wasn't very funny.
Hard to believe I know but by then those guys were all 40+ years old. I used to be a huge fan so I've read some stuff on those guys, they really never did anything like that (outside of maybe trying a little weed like everyone did in those days). One died of alcohol-related illness though.
And HG and LOB had plenty of crazy silliness too (the aliens picking up Brian? the Knights who say Ni?)
Dude, watch your fucking mouth. There may be women reading this.
Phoebe Cates' boobs can only propel a movie so far. If there were naked titties in Clueless, I'd be inclined to say that is a better movie than Fast Times, too. It pretty much copied the formula and set it in the early '90s. Nostalgia is messing with you, cal.

Well, Clueless was the second movie by Amy Heckerling (Fast Times was her first movie), so I am not surprised at the comparison.
Clueless was good, but it was no FTaRH.
Shame on you for even hinting at the concept.
No go away, or I will mock you a second time.
Dude, you know the rules: cite your source so we can all read it....

I'm aware, and if you were born a decade later, the refurbished jokes that appeared in Clueless would have more social relevance and nostalgic glee associated with them for you.
I love Fast Times at Ridgemont High, even though it came out a year after I was born, but I can still recognize it for what it is: a timeless high school comedy that has been re-hashed in every way from Clueless to American Pie to whatever crap the next awful generation wants to laugh at (now get off my lawn!).
The Big Lebowski, though more humorous if you remember H.W. Bush's regime is, without debate, significantly funnier than any high school dramedy. Fast Times had an abortion scene. Can a movie still be considered a comedy after a 15 year-old girl gets stood up for her ride to the abortion clinic? "Did you hear that? That was my skull!"
