Nice story, and I'd recommend reading the linked story in the article about his friendship with Frank Gore.

"It's a winning system, but it's a matter of getting everybody on the same page. Read both ~ both are excellent reads! I knew Gore & Craig were acquaintances, we have all seen them together on the sidelines on occasion, but I had no idea they were as close as they are.

Here are a couple favorite quotes of mine:

Watching coach Harbs in practice gives me flashbacks of how I used to watch Niner practices as a kid back then. NO mistakes, no effing around kind of guy who is all about his immaculate timing.

Perhaps, Walsh's greatest genius was getting his players to perform to his expectations, not theirs.

Walsh was extremely efficient with practice time. Not like Singletary.
