NL = pure
AL = unpure

Games evolve. I'm just glad the NL and AL aren't the same like the AFC adn NFC. So no matter your taste, you can watch what you want.

I actually like the new format because it puts a premium on winning your division where before, a wildcard team was on equal footing with division winners.

The only penalty a WC team got in the past was one fewer home playoff game.

They do matter, that's why you play teams within your division more than anyone else. Interleague changes that. The problem is interleague play and just like the DH it's a bastardization of the way the game is meant to be played.
