Well, here we are still uncertain about what to do with our QB.....Or......Are we?
Kirk has made it know that he wants out and has gone so far as to telling the owner which team he wants to play for. He most certainly will get a hefty sum by playing on the tag in 2017 and likely 2018. Dan at first blush appeared to give the answer that is best suited for his team when he told Kirk not to expect such a trade, but after a bit more careful thought was that the correct answer? I think NOT!
Why? Well, when someone wants out and has the power to control outcomes of games, the unknown becomes...to what extent does this player give you everything that he has? The money is guaranteed, he wants out and there is no better way to get that done in the NFL than to play your way out of a horrible situation. Kirk to me is a extremely shrewd businessman, forget all of that nice guy bullshit, and as such he'll do exactly what's necessary to get what he wants.
Dan should put new batteries in Bruce and send him directly to Cleveland, let it become well know that he's shopping Kirk there. Hopefully it's not too late because there are reports of a JG trade with N.E., but who knows, offering Kirk might change their minds.
