He also might lead them into the playoffs.
If he leads them into the above .500 club it would be an accomplishment.

A former #1 draft pick signed and the Browns don't lose any draft picks. A good deal for them.
The only way RG3 succeeds in Cleveland is if he becomes a runner again. He has his legs back (albeit tender) and he has another chance. Look for RG3 to run first pass second in his new opportunity. I believe he will put aside the notion of being a pocket passer and revert back to what he was born to do... run. I also believe the Browns will not draft a QB with their 2nd pick but rather drop back if possible. Not sure where they turn but I believe they are tired of wasting top picks on QBs who aren't hailed like an Andrew Luck type.
If they do draft a QB Im afraid RG3 was signed for no other reason but a battering ram and not a solution until they get their line up to par for the new Prince in a couple years.
Both sides are desperate with few other options. It will not work out, obviously, because the Browns could sign Joe Montana in 1982 and he would implode.
Joe Montana was nuthin without Bill Walsh![]()
Said it once, and I will say it again.
This signing likely throws a curveball into the 2016 draft. I dont think the Brown bypass QB because of this signing. But I think it takes them to a place where they are not handcuffed into using the #2 pick on a QB. And honestly it should take them out of the market for Wentz unless the plan is to feed RG3 to the wolves while Hue gives most of his love and attention to Wentz. But the reality is, there is no room on roster for a $15 million dollar flyer if you also plan to invest four years into a rookie QB who will also count for around $22 million in guaranteed money no matter what.
Bullshit Shark. Cle will still take QB at #2. RG3 is just the stop gap for the rookie QB. I wouldn't be surprised if the rookie QB beat out RG3 in training camp. NO curveballs thrown.
Plus, Hugh Jackson has said that he is willing to tailor the offense to Roberts unique skill sets. That offense does not work with wentz under center. Cle will not be taking a QB with their first pick.If he is just a stop gap, why not use the guy already under contract, McCown? RG3 needs the attention to improve as well and you can't give enough time to both RG3 and a rookie.

They gave him a lot of money. Browns will still draft a QB @2
You dont sign a $6 million dollar backup if you already have one on staff and plan to draft a rookie. As we have all said, there are only so many snaps to go around in practice. I wont be shocked to see the browns start quietly shopping that #2 overall pick.

You could perhaps argue some of your pts or possibly these pts are correct. However - you are forgetting one key factor - this is the Browns! They are completely capable of making moves that make no sense nor pan out well eventually especially at the QB position.
I mostly agree. But I also have to factor in the Hue Jackson dynamic. Its his first Head Coaching gig. I dont think he is going to be on board with an instant QB controversy. If they draft Wentz at #2, you almost have to make him the starter from day one. Griffin didnt sign on to play sit and wait behind a rookie knowing the only real shot he has of getting on the field is injury. As i said, I dont think the Browns totally skip drafting a QB. But I do think they try to either move out of the #2 spot, or draft something other than a QB in that spot now.
