ROAD TRIP NIGHTMARES

Ok, what are some of your Road trip nightmares. I have been to many bowl games only to watch us lose, but not only losing but getting our butts kicked.

Well the most recent road trip was to the big apple to watch us get handed our butts in the Bowl. I am still Mad at my self for going. It was cold raining and our team forgot to show up. It was really a pour showing. Did get to see my Daughters but than had to ride home in A snow storm. FUN FUN FUN

Gator bowl in 2005 and 2010, 2005 because Pac Man was the only one who did not show up to play and that was a very winnable game for us.

2010 because the team quit and Noel Devine did not touch the ball in the second half after going crazy on FSU in the first half....we just gave Bobby his last win.

As you remember, I went to the Pinstripe Bowl last winter too. Terrible road trip.

Another that comes to mind, my senior year of college we went to Penn St as the #4 team in the country. Me and my buds were all sure the losing skid to PSU was ending that year.

The game was over by half-time. I got so drunk afterwords, I passed out in someone's house. Don't know how I got there... total black-out.

Last WVU roadtrip was for hoops... I went to the game at the Pete after we had some students toss crap onto the court and at the Pitt bench in Morgantown... Not a pretty sight. For football, it's been a long time. Virginia Tech in 98...

My worst experience was in new Mountaineer field, believe it or not. The year we played Ohio State at home, the only ticket I could get was in the South endzone visitor section. There were advertising banners hanging off the rail below us, and a couple of OSU fans decided to cut them down, I stood up and said bullshit, your not coming into our house and tearing things up. A fistfight of me against the drunker of the two OSU fans broke out among 10,000 people in grey and red. There were some stand up OSU fans in the crowd who told the cops what happened, so the drunk vandal was escorted out, and I stayed. The cops were at first going to pitch us both.

DC, I often wonder about such things, a guy I work with thinks ALL the NFL games are scripted...............

If the are scripted in the NFL I wish they would script in there a win or two for our teams, they both look bad so far.

One of my worse Road trips was I think 1975 Peach bowl. We had 10 tickets that were given to me. Ok ROAD TRIP. 3 of us left Morgantown on a Friday, drove to wheeling to pic up couple people. Broke down in my 1969 For Van one hour out of wheeling. Had to get a pick up truck with Camper on it to get back on the road. We got Cinci and the roads were so bad that we had to get tires put on the truck. 2 of us taking turns in the back of the truck. Anyway we listen to the game on the radio as we arrived with only 5 mins left in the game.

I know, pick on me, but the last road trip nightmare for me was many moons ago at a Peach Bowl. My car was stolen(from a paid secure parking lot) and we were left at a hotel in a very unpleasant part of town for two days while insurance determined what to do. And, we lost the game. It was in Dec 1972 and we got our butts handed to us.

If the are scripted in the NFL I wish they would script in there a win or two for our teams, they both look bad so far.

My worst road trip was to the Peach Bowl in Atlanta in 1981 when FLorida had Wilbur Marshall at LB. It was chilly and rainy at the game and had a good time there. Got really drunk and threw a guy threw the hotel wall at the Hyatt wrestling. Had to pay for the wall and 4 of us left Atlanta with a 12 pack of Budweiser, a bag of Doritos, and my buddy's DAD'S EXXON Card. We made it home hungry, but we made it home.

See I knew there would be some crazy Nightmare Road Trips. Boy have we grown OLD. Just like WVDad getting into a fight with other teams fans. Could you just see Dad drunk Trying to explain to the visiting Fans his OPINIONS. LOL

I am sure all of you that traveled to Maryland would have to say it was a Nightmare. I am sure the Maryland fans loved it

Actually it wasn't that bad...I mean the game sucked, but for the most part all I heard from the UMD fans was "redneck" and stupid things like that. It was a nice stadium, but the rain did not help...

Onward and upward...will be in town for Ok St and hopefully we can show some improvement...I really wish we would make mistakes while opening up the offense more....cause our QB situation is what it is....
