That's what I was thinking. I think Rhule just might be good at Baylor in time...but, exactly whay has he won yet?Doesn't take much to be an NFL head coach nowadays, huh?
I bet they go after somebody like Todd Orlando/DC at Texas.
That's what I thought when Rhule took it. I didn't think another head coach would touch it with a 10 foot pole but Rhule did.No head coach will take the Baylor job.
They'll go after a Coordinator somewhere, get a good guy, save some money.
After the fiasco, I was shocked at how well Baylor was doing on the recruiting trail until my Baylor alum brother in law educated me. Then it made a little sense.Matt Rhule is staying at Baylor...he withdrew his name from consideration for the Colts job.
Report: Matt Rhule withdraws from Colts’ coaching search
Perhaps Rhule was just polishing his interview skills? However, his flirtation with the Colts could cost him some potential recruits. Rhule seems to have a pretty decent 2018 recruiting class so far.... Baylor is currently ranked #24 on 247 with a recruit average of 86.56.... 21 of 22 recruits have signed, and 6 of those 21 have already enrolled early. Not bad at all.
2018 Football Team Rankings
There are a couple more 4 stars that still might choose Baylor....in particular, WR Tommy Bush out of Texas seems to have his choices down between Baylor, Michigan State, and Georgia. I'm wondering if Rhule's interview with the Colts, combined with Spartans WR Hunter Rison announcing his transfer from East Lansing will entice Tommy Bush to choose Michigan State.
Baylor 2018 Football Prospects
Still doesnt make senseAfter the fiasco, I was shocked at how well Baylor was doing on the recruiting trail until my Baylor alum brother in law educated me. Then it made a little sense.
One of the first thing Rhule did was hire the head coach from Cedar Hill HS to help get a foot in the door with Texas HS coaches. He also hired one other native Texan..the QB coach I believe.
