Because there is no viable better option. Uless you plan on beating the odds in the draft, and good luck with that, you don't panic and ride this train until the contract expires. That would be the grown up thing to do IMO. The panic move is to pull the plug too early and run the risk of some other team getting a good QB when there is no viable alternative.
OK again that is your opinion. Not a fact by any stretch of the word. Im not suggesting we cut him at the end of the season if he does not show HUGE improvement. What i am saying is that if we get to week 17 and we are still saying, well he holds onto the ball too long, takes needless sacks, and that the only real way he can show production is to constantly put himself at risk. In that case you have got to at least keep your options open. I say if he is still average with tendencies of the Vick, then you bring in another QB via the draft, FA or teleportation to at least compete with him. Half the reason we had to take it up the ass on the trade in the first place is because we didnt even have a viable option in the wings behind Rex Grossman. We made the move out of desperation. And part of the reason was because the owner felt the fan base slipping. And the panic move is to continue down the road believing that RG3 will finally become something he has shown little signs of becoming while ultimately never being able to settle on what the team should be.
