Conflicted about this , I am happy about it however taxpayer funds being spent on a luxury when we have a debt issue gives me pause

IF is a huge word when talking stadium deals. I do believe Harris want to put it on the old RFK site. At some point they have to knock down and remove RFK. It is in shambles now.

Tickets are going to be way high but that would be true no matter where the stadium goes. I am two months from turning 69, it doesn't mean too much to me. You'd have to be in your 40s to have any real remembrance of RFK. What a home field advantage that was.

Infrastructure will be a KEY word. Parking will be somewhat limited unless they know something I don't. There are four Metro stops on the far side of the DC Armory. It wouldn't be a real long walk but a stop a little closer to the stadium would be nice. From the east you'd have to come in via East Capital Street SE or Benning Road and from the west you would have to come in C Street SE or Independence Ave. You can come in I-295 from MD or Route 50/New York Ave and from VA you can start in on I-395 but would have to cut through the city to get to the stadium. All of these ways would slow to a crawl before or after the game.

I would still favor old Oxon Hill Farm but that is in MD and they would have to get permission to build on the site. It is right across I-295 from the Potomac. Access would mostly be from the Capital Beltway (I-495.) Even this would need additional infrastructure. I don't think Josh wants that and Mayor Bowser is going to want it in DC..

The good news is Josh is working on it and trying to get something done.
