I'm not getting into the politics of the original bill, I don't think there is any doubt that the original bill had other things they objected to. But I'll simply point out that Musk tweeted his objection to the bill containing money for a new stadium and that was flat out wrong. At Trump and Musk's urging the original bill did not pass and one of the things they objected to was stadium funding which was never in the original bill in the first place. The same Republicans who felt Congress has better things to do than interview the owner of the Washington Commanders and the Commissioner of the National Football League. Those appearances before Congress most definitely kept the pressure on and lead to Snyder ultimately being forced to sell the team.

But DGF thinks that the CR should have passed despite all the unnecessary crap in it . At first I was really against it, but I'd be okay with a dome. Nothing like a big NFC East home snow game, but it's not 1961 anymore.

We'll still be in this stadium around 2045/2050 if it gets built in 2030. Will outdoor stadiums even be a thing in 2045?

It would be great to be back on the banks of the Anacostia. Traffic would likely be worse than Largo. I grew up between the two stadiums.. Fans would have to come East Capital Street on come through the city. There is a Metro stop at Stadium Armory that would require a little walk or buses from the stop to the Stadium.

I always took the metro. Walking past all the self-employed vendors selling peanuts and Redskins buttons was always part of the experience. Miss that spot.

Metro to Stadium/Armory, walk past the vendors, feel more excited/hyped approaching the stadium, and shake the bleachers. RFK was a fabulous place to watch a game, says my 12-year-old self.

We used to drive in using Benning Road. Since you know the area you know access from the east is East Capital Street, Benning Road or Route 50. From the south and west is 295 and 395 (old Southeast/Southwest Freeway.) My brother lives in Hyattsville, he and his wife kayak on the Anacostia now. Done right it could be such a cool site.

Benning Rd! My sister rented us an Airbnb where you take the Benning Rd. exit, when I went back in October. Why did I try to make a beer run at 10pm on Minnesota Avenue in my funeral suit, in a rental with VA plates? I couldn't even get out the SUV. I would have been walking home. Lol
