^exactly my thought
Now, here is a flaw in this.............
Take Wisconsin for instance.........losing a big time QB, plus losing a lot from the Offensive Line that opened up those gigantic holes to lead to all those Rushing Yards......
Yea, the guy who got the yards is coming back, but not all the guys around him are.
You know what those recieving stats tell me? We need to find a JUCO pro style QB from this class if Taylor is responsible for another triple digit ranked passing attack.
It will be easy to sell JUCO QB's on that receiving corps. Bo wants a multiple offense. If you don't have a guy who can pass, then a multiple offense sputters.
OR maybe.. Just maybe... Brion can pull his head out of his ass.
I'll take a defense loaded with experience and senior leadership over a defense loaded with youngsters and 3 all-americans.
Based on all the stats combined..........I'd have to say Huskerz fer champz

One could have said the same thing about us after 2010. We lost three offensive lineman and a very good QB as well, and all we did was have the best offensive season in B1G history. The line doesn't concern me for this year. The two things that have me very concerned are the QB play and the change in our staff. I think we will be worse because of both of those, but I think we have a much more favorable schedule to make up for it.
If we can get out of Lincoln alive, I fully expect us to be undefeated going into the B1G Title Game. We'll find out a lot on September 29th.

Year 2 for Beck, and year 2 for the players in Beck's system.
There will be some execution and disiplinary improvements offensively.
How much is the question?
So, combining both sides of the ball, we end up with this....
Overall:
1. Ohio St-2.14 + 4 = 6.14
2. Wisconsin-5.28 + 3.6 = 8.88
3. Nebraska-9.42 + 1.8 = 11.22
4. Michigan St-2.28 + 9 = 11.28
5. Purdue-4.71 + 7.8 = 12.51
6. Illinois-4 + 9 = 13
7. Northwestern-9.42 + 4 = 13.42
8. Michigan-8.14 + 5.4 = 13.54
9. Indiana-7.85 + 5.8 = 13.65
10. Penn St-5.85 + 8.4 = 14.25
11. Iowa-7 + 9.8 = 16.8
12. Minnesota-8.42 + 8.6 = 17.2
You can't add averages.
Here are your overall combined numbers.
1. Ohio St-2.91
2. Wisconsin-4.58
3. Michigan St-5.16
4. Purdue-6
5. Illinois-6.08
6. Nebraska-6.25
7. Penn St-6.91
T8. Indiana-7
T8. Michigan-7
10. Northwestern-7.16
11. Iowa-8.16
12. Minnesota-8.5
this might just be me, but for the first time since Bo was hired, i think most husker fans are not worried about the offense....
now that damned defense is a different story
It's nice to see a metric that takes into account returning numbers rather than "returning starters." While we may have the most returning starters, pretty much every starter on our team this year got major playing time last year. That's why I think it is hilarious that so many people are dismissing us while crowning Michigan as B1G favorites.
