and i hope thats how the rankings will be counted... Whether we change how we do the scoring or not... I dont know how Fantrax calculates this... so we will see after week one if we need to change the calculations...

there should be no NEGATIVE NUMBERS in the rankings... think negative as REVERSE RANKINGS....
The Weight determines the importance of each scoring category relative to the other scoring categories. For example in a 12-team league, if you assigned a weight of 1 to TD, then the fantasy team who's 1st in TD among all other teams would receive 12 points (12 x 1). The 2nd place team in TD would receive 11 points, the 3rd place team in TD would receive 10 points, and so on. If the weight was 2 for TD, then the 1st place team in TD would receive 24 points (12 x 2), the 2nd place team in TD would receive 22 points (11 x 2), and so on.

* A scoring category that is generally unfavorable to accumulate stats in, such as Turnovers (TO), is automatically scored as a negative stat by the system (i.e. the less Turnovers the better). Therefore, it should not be assigned a negative weight, unless you want to track it as a "positive" stat (i.e. the more Turnovers the better :suds:

-1 reverses whatever the stat normally does but the problem is the people that dont play screw up the system :suds:

the calculation was correct... but i forgot to put into the ranking that some were reverse ranking, others were regular ranking...
Also, Rush attempts is a half Category... So the rankings didnt add up without the calculations...

this is what the rankings should have looked like

I suggest that Games Played, Pass Attempts and INT's are too heavily weighted. Cut them in half and the result makes more sense.

Sounds like a lot of work to do for real.

I'd just take the top 18 QB and TE 2022 yardage leaders and 45 RB and 45 WR yardage leaders, randomly assign them to nine teams, and spit out the result.

But if I took Mayfield over Josh Allen last year I expect that to be obviously better in this league, and with the current scoring it's not.

that was only a 4 team/player league though... that was not a good example of the scoring... remember that the max you can get for a category is the amount of teams and the least is 1...

in 4 team league, the max was 4 least was 1... so with those categories there was never going to be one player to take the big leap over the other...

the more teams in the league the larger the difference between good and bad....

few things to notice...

1. i did not include GP and 2PT conversions which are both currently stats we are using

2. Rushing QBs were seen to be less of a bust compared to the rest of the QBs... But that is not a valid Rotisserie assessment... as the rushing stats are going to be increased by the running backs on your team... and as a rotisserie league, each category has its own importance....

But i am noticing that because i am including ATTEMPTS, i probably dont need to include GP as a full category... I think that may be better off as a half....

I just posted a list of the top 30 QBs from last year and how they would have scored in this league

Surprising to see these QB's score so high (badly).

Jared Goff QB | DET - 133.5
Justin Herbert QB | LAC - 136.5

Goff was ranked so Busty because of his rushing... was ranked 26th and 28th in rushing Yds and TDs... But other than the elite Rushing QBs, the rushing rankings are going to be irrelevant to the total rankings...

Herbert, should not have surprised you... he was not good last season...

Well this is where it gets dicey...I know there is really nothing we can do in a sense but why should a QB be penalized for a being a great pocket passer and just simply slow? I mean this for Goff.

Herbert was nothing special.

they dont get penalized...

you play rotisserie baseball... think about it this way....

there are HR hitters, there are players that get stolen bases.... then there are players that get both....

does owning a player who DOES NOT DO BOTH, penalize you in either category?? or do you just need other players to help you in those other categories???
