Not a common thing for promising players to bolt back to the sel so I'm gonna bet he's not exactly happy w the kings

A shame for the kings. The kid's got talent.
Don't know if it ever would have translated to NHL (I'm sure Kings fans saw flashes), but he was a stud for Chilliwack in junior.

Kind of weird, usually it's the Ruskies that bolt. I wonder if it has something to do with Lombardi, the Kings organization, or if he just missed home.

his career wasn't really heading in the right direction in terms of ice time. Whether he got a fair shake or not is up for debate, but he played 40 games in his rookie year (that's the year he broke his collarbone?), 34 in his second year, and only 13 games last season. that's just plain going the wrong way.

I don't blame him one bit. He was battling for a top six position the whole season. I understand his frustration with his limited ice time and the line juggling of TM. He his a true top six forward and it wouldn't surprise me that he will be back in the NHL after a couple of years away.

Yeah his size might be somewhat of a disadvantage, but If you compare him to other "short" NHLers that have been in the league, he's actually pretty good with what time he has been playing and at his age.
Gionta, St. Loius, Versteeg, Gerbe, Wellwood, Sullivan, Briere, Cammalleri, Parise and Giroux, most of these players really never got going until ages 22-23 and have been been steady producers for their respected teams.
Should have gave this kid the ice time he deserves.

I don't understand what the Kings are doing. They've let a bunch of forwards go in recent years. This kid was never given much of a chance. The one forward I'll never figure out why they let go is Cammalleri (Yeah I know I spelled it wrong.):D: If they had just paid him a lot of their goal scoring questions would have been solved.

I for one am so glad Cammalleri was traded. I don’t even care who the Kings got for him. He was useless and still is. Remember the 2007-08 season when he started out with 10 goals in the first 10 games of the season and was leading the NHL with guys like Kovalchuk? How did that season end for him? 19 goals. Granted, he played 63 games, but that still means that over his last 53 games he had 9 goals. He was never going to be a true sniper like the Kings need and I say the same thing I did when he was traded, “Good riddance.”

Do you think Penner is any better? I didn't have a problem with Lombardi making a trade to help the team in the playoffs. However the last team I would have made a deal with is Edmonton.
