i have the second season of orville recorded watched the first episode, but it felt flat, is it worth watching? i was lukewarm on the first season.

I liked the second season a lot. Dont judge it based on Ja'loja. The second season is actually much more dramatic, with less off-the-wall comedy than the first.

The two two-parter episodes e8&9 (especially) and e13&14 are the best this show has ever done.

that's good to hear. what i didn't care for in the first season is they tried to do both, while achieving neither. as for cancellation, if it's borderline, i'd imagine they'd give it the go ahead to keep seth happy.

Orville is very good. S2, while still keeping it light, is much more serious than S1.

While I don’t think it is as good as DS9 or TNG, it is 1000x better than Enterprise. I have only seen the pilot of Discovery, so I can’t fairly compare the two.

Nothing will compare to TNG. DS9 got close but the rest have not. As far as the Orville, I just could not get myself to watch it yet. Something about Brian the dog captaining a space ship keeps me from taking it seriously. I am sure I will take a peek at some point though.

Gary Cole is the reason I even decided to watch it. It's very disappointing he was barely in it. I hate laugh tracks. They will make me leave a show.

As much as I love Seth MacFarlane, dont'cha all think his acting is the prob with The Orville? It's just not...so good, imo.

Not as bad as Avery Brooks was in DS9. That was some epically bad acting right there.

Yeah, MacFarlane's acting is a weak point of the show. He's getting better as he gets more experienced in the character though, and he does have good chemistry with Adrienne Palicki.
