Maybe it was just me, but when I was a kid, I was borderline personally devastated when I found out certain players were juicing, or when reporters questioned Ryan Howard's 58 home run season in '06 (Piece! @Cedrique) by saying he was possibly using roids. Again, it could have been a product of my young age, but it was like those guys were bad, immoral people who cheated their teams, their fans, and all of MLB. And I don't think it was just me- the Garper threads that were bumped are good indications of what most people thought about steroid users, IMO.
Fastforward to 2017, and who gives a motherfuck? The biggest complaint now is that the player's will lose 50 or whatever games to the season. But there's no more personal liability for things players have used. And even the 50 games is largely forgivable, so long as the player helped his team get to the playoffs or even win a World Series.
I, for one, am happy. When you have so many freaking guys juicing, it's unfair to single out and criticize the few that get caught. That's some bullshit. And that's not even to comment on what I think about PED's in general.
Go steroids!
