US ARMY retired /mod.
I expect him too as well but I don't think you would bank on it and release CC.
no but when you add the draft pick and toler into the mix plus dunbar you can see why it happened

that is the logical route. But i feel like if fuller is healthy and productive in TC that they pretty much give him the nickel spot over dunbar.i am thinking dunbar is stepping up even more
well that escalated quickly. they must feel really confident fuller is ready to go day 1 in TC because they essentially handed him the nickel job without playing a down.
Probably. But he wasn't even really lighting it up before his injury and once injured, his value is greatly diminished . So you never know.
well yeah i thought the contract thing was pretty self explanatory.Or this may just be a long-term decision. SM may have felt he needs to cut Culliver now so he would eat the left over money this year instead of keeping him this year and having to pay extra next year if he is cut then.
This. Cully wasn't very good last year before the injury. Certainly not worth his salary and coming off a second ACL tear. If he was playing at an elite level, he wouldn't have been cut. Combination of his play before the injury, the injury itself and his huge cap number.
I have no problem bringing him in at a much lower salary to see if he can improve his play. Doubtful that it will happen.
you overpay for free agents . cully garcon , maybe even norman . that is why you limit FA signings and build mostly for the draft

Chris Culliver was released with the Post-June 1 designation.#Redskins will save $8 million in cap space as result.
5:52 PM - 2 May 2016
That means we take a $5M dead cap hit in 2017. I'm wondering if that means we're making room to sign someone soon. Reed? Cuz?
3,750 dead cap in 2016 onlyThat means we take a $5M dead cap hit in 2017. I'm wondering if that means we're making room to sign someone soon. Reed? Cuz?
Why would we take a 5m cap hit in 2017?
It says we saved 8 mil against the cap because his 8 mil salary is no longer guaranteed. He was going to count as 9.25 mil against the cap and the Twitter statement still counts the 1.25 mil proration of his signing bonus. That being said, we still have to account for the 2.5 mil for 2017 and 2018. I think we will just get rid of that this season in accounting.
I believe you are correct, sir. Somehow, my basic math skills failed me. With a post-June 1 designation, we have to account for $1.25M x 2, which is $2.5M.
Thought it was but I defer to those of you who understand the pre/post designation etc...far better than iIs that chart correct? It appears to be based on a pre-June 1 release. A post-June 1 cut, on the other hand, means that the current year's pro-rate is taken into account and the remaining years unamortized signing bonus pro-rate accelerates the next League Year. The chart shows that Cully's cap number is $9.25M this year. By subtracting his $1.25M pro-rate for 2016, we clear $8M this year. However, there's the issue of the remaining pro-rates, which I goofed my basic math on. It's $1.25M x 2, which is $2.5M not $5M.
