They have some kind of fiesta going on outside the stadium in advance of the NBA game. Yeah, it's annoying. Plus, it's causing Pasta to have a bad game.
Cleveland's not a bad team, but they're not this good. Just wondering what's the worst beating that the Reds have ever gotten? 12 to nothing so far.. This just in we didn't get much when the Reds picked up Delabar
Sorry but if anybody is letting Price off the hook for this one, I'd like to hear a good explanation. The hitters are clueless, the pitchers are clearly not ready to come into a game and the players act like they would rather be in a casino somewhere, or out in the parking lot at the beerfest.
Finny will "throw" tonight in what promises to be ........................ the Indians called up a rookie, so I'd say we're in for a tough game.
The Reds (15-24) have lost seven of nine while allowing 13 or more runs three times. Opponents have averaged 7.1 runs in that time and are batting .312.
I also look at it from the other team's point of view. The Indians were sucking and needed to get going.
Rajai Davis hadn't gotten a hit in a week! Now, he's on track to make the All-Star team.
Plus, the Reds relievers got some needed experience on how to back up third base.
There's more to ball than just numbers. It's about personalities. Votto got the chance to talk to a lot of Cleveland guys who stopped briefly at first base.
I can't say for certain since I don't know the basement or ceiling for some of these pitchers, but if the prospects improve this much at the big league level as the guys we have now, I'd say the learning curve is on the downward spiral.
It's like letting your grandmother drive a racing car.
However, I think it's obvious that Simon is pitching in pain or, at best, restricted motion. He's giving it up for the team, and I sort of admire that in a patriotic sort of way.
I know it is early, and he is young, playing out of his natural position. But I am not impressed with Jose Peraza's defense. He misjudged a fly ball Monday night and looked pretty bad at 2nd last night, but when all is said and done. It only cost us maybe 3 runs. That is nothing these days. His bat is not bad so far. I figure when he gets his feet under him he will be alright with the glove.
