Cingrani is either capable of closing or he isn't. Price is either brain-dead or he isn't. Ross Olhendorf should be pitching in Japan. Ramirez should be at Lousyvillle.
Observations:
How do these teams all know which pitch is coming?
How does Adam Duvall get thrown out stealing?
Is 14,000 going to pay the light bill?
Isn't it time to at least review the dugout staff?
The Pirates sure did whine a lot about that tag out at 2nd. I didn't see Phillips do anything but hold the tag on Marte.
I think Hurdle is still mad at the Reds for getting rid of him, because he wasn't worth a crap when he played for the Reds back in 82.

Peraza was brought up to fill the roster spot vacated by Billy Hamilton, who was placed on the bereavement list. Hamilton will only be away from the team for 3-to-7 days, and it remains to be seen if Peraza will remain with the big club when Hamilton returns. However, he did hit .295 over 30 games with Louisville this season and is one of theReds' better prospects, so there is a good chance he at least sees some action with the big club over the next few days.
The problem is, 100 losses is being sold as a "rebuild."
Does that mean the "rebuild" includes a completely useless dugout staff? I was sort of hoping for some marginal success by now.
I think that's the toughest part about watching this team. It's not a rebuild at the MLB level.
There's a few players that may be here when and if the ship is turned around, but this is mostly a farm system replenishment and development sort of rebuild. Unless you're watching games in Louisville and Pensacola, all you're watching is bad baseball.
Except for Suarez replacing Frazier, Barnhart getting the daily job ahead of Pena and Duvall replacing the Village Choir, the only "rebuild" is coming out of camp with the rotation on the DL. There is no closer, no middle, no end and a revolving door of callups who get a uniform and a spot on the printed roster.
I can't see how anybody can call this a "rebuild" of anything. It's just a pitching staff of clueless hasbeens, never wases and a few potential 11th man on the roster guys. The rest of the rotation is somewhere between Cincy and Dripping Springs.
Reds are 2 and 12 on the road, that's before todays game, which has DeJesus batting 2nd. I don't like the guy hitting 2nd because he's batting 164, but I suppose he can handle the bat. Plus every time I mention this he does well in that game
The problem is, Price is too dense to realize the team needs a win -- any kind of win. Resting the regulars is fine, but these guys are just flat out losing.
It appears it's taken about a month for the league to get their scouting report down on how to pitch the Reds. Once they get Duvall figured out, it's curtains.
