They have said on the website several times that Allenis coming in to be the 3rd CB behind Hall and Clements, and start at CB until Hall is 100%.

Nelson and someone will be our safety.

If we didn't sign Nelson, everyone would be bitching up and down that we let another Joseph happen, at a lesser extent.

I like the Nelson signing. I don't like Crocker/Nelson as our safeties again.

Nelson is overvalued by our fans.... If he were really that good, he would have received much more attention in a FA market that was short on safeties. He's just not that good.

He's better than Taylor Mays.

Sure. But he wasn't good enough for everyone to be freaking out about the franchise tag. I'll be interested to see what we're paying him.

You keep calling him overvalued, but outside of myself, you'll be hard pressed to find anyone that has anything good to say about him. If anything, he's undervalued by our fans.

It was a FA market short on safeties because most teams' safeties were still under contract. It works both ways. Nonetheless, the Jets and another team were interested.

It worked out in our favor, but hindsight is 20/20. All things considered, he should have been franchised.

In a league that favors passers, he's all right. We could do a lot worse in a league that isn't filled with show stopping safeties.

He's our best safety, by far.....of course that's because they all suck..............I didn't think they would be able to keep him......

Reggie Nelson agreed to a deal Sunday that is believed to be the biggest for a safety this offseason, according to the Bengals' official website. No details of his contract were provided. Nelson chose the Bengals over the Jets. It's believed both offers exceeded $4 million per season. "I'd be lying if I didn't say it was hard," Nelson told the website. "I had a great visit with the Jets. Yeah, I went back and forth. But my agent [Hadley Engelhard] was able to come to a great agreement with the Browns [family, Bengals owners]. I'm back in orange and black."

So it appears the Jets really wanted him, but Brown puckered up at the last minute.

Surprising that Brown outbid anyone, isn't it?

Well, we still need another safety, another corner, another guard, a number two receiver, a middle linebacker, and a couple of quality depth guys for the DL......and we need to re-sign Manny Lawson, too......

Seems like we're farther behind than we were when free agency started......

What's the consensus that Manny gets re-signed? I don't want to see him walk.
