After discussions on a contract extension perished on Friday, Oklahoma City Thunder guard Reggie Jackson is determined to pursue restricted free agency as a means to hunt a starting job in the NBA, league sources told Yahoo Sports.

Jackson has been described as eager to get on the market next summer, out of All-Star Russell Westbrook’s shadow and prove his value as a frontline NBA point guard. …

“Bottom line,” one NBA general manager told Yahoo Sports, “how much are they willing to pay for Westbrook’s backup?”

Sounds like OKC should make a trade when they get Westbrook back. Don't wait if they guy wants out.

They could shoot for a Greg Monroe situation where he hits RFA, no team gives him what he wants, and he comes limping back on a one year deal

Jacksons a pretty good player. A great 6th man. But he's not James Harden.

I would really like to trade him. The problem is we would have to trade him for another point guard. He's good but he's not as good as he thinks he is.

Yeah, to me Jackson's more of a bench guy and not a starter.

He's like a poor man's Bledsoe. Not as athletic or as good defensively, but I think he could be a decent starter for a team that needs a PG. Seems like more of a super sixth man to me though.
