Sources say Robyn Regehr has been asked to waive his no-move clause and accept a trade to the Buffalo Sabres. Details to follow.

Probably not a bad deal at $4M per year, though I guess it depends what we have to give up..

No notes on what the rest of the deal is. But, multiple sources are confirming that he's been asked. Though they say it may not get done until tonight/tomorrow.

Sabres have been working for a few years now to re-invent themselves as a defensive minded team, compared to their run and gun post lockout style.

Seems like a step in the right direction, again depending on what they give up.

Depending on what you're giving, could be a really nice addition

Regehr was told of the deal yesterday, but hasn't been given a deadline, or time frame as to when Buffalo needs an answer. He's absorbing now

Buffalo has a much better chance at the Stanley Cup then Calgary if that helps your decision-making Robyn.

So I guess it's looking more and more like a full-on rebuild in Cowtown, dash?
I can't say I fully understand why, they had a nice little resurgence in the second half, things seemed to moving in the right direction overall

I don't know about full-on, there are still some pretty good pieces in place...More like a shuffling of the deck.

you cant go into next season standing pat based on an upswing late in the year that happened because your players were pressure free and your opponents were coasting through games waiting to hit the post season

their prospect cupboard is virtually bare

That's like the last million years of the Leafs' existence.

The latest I have heard (read) is that there may be more players involved...Please be Stajan and/or Kotalikmyballs.

Sabres tried hard to dump Kotalik a few years back. Definitely don't see them taking him back unless it's a "we'll give you Regehr, but only if you take Kotalik too" deal.

I've heard Weber's name thrown in the mix as someone to go back to CAL, but isn't he a Dman? How much sense would that make? Anyway, looks like Regehr is gonna sleep on it tonight.
