If this were start you would like the no runs allowed, but 100 pitches in 5? Not good.

dumb to go there, should have been a dead duck at the plate and the throw and the catcher were just as bad

This is a little on the "late news" side. Although it was only 2 weeks ago from Keith Law, and the last sentence, at least part of it, surprises me a little.

8. Joey Gallo, 3B
Texas Rangers
Current level: Double-A (Frisco)

Gallo missed about three weeks following surgery on his ankle at the end of spring training, but his grade-80 power has been unaffected; he's tied for fourth in the Texas League in homers despite the missed time. He's making more contact and doing more when he does make contact, along with an improved walk rate -- although I can't imagine anyone's dying to pitch to him at this point. I don't think he's ready to come up in 2015, but it's fair to pencil him in for the bulk of the time at third base for Texas next year.

The bad news on Choice just continues.

TRIPLE-A ROUND ROCK (35-22) reached old friend RHP Matt West for two runs in 2 1/3 innings but lost 7-5 to Oklahoma City (Los Angeles Dodgers.) LF Michael Choice, hitting eighth, had his second consecutive three-strikeout game and has 11 strikeouts in his last 21 at-bats.

That blows, man. I was on board with the trade way back when.

I didnt expect Derek before August or Sept, if at all
After what we have been through with pitching injuries I don't blame you, but the team did expect him to be back before then. What I am concerned with is that the injury is not getting better at the pace that the team's doctors expected it to regardless of what any of us expected. I am concerned that the injury may be much worse than they originally thought it was. Brandon Webb had an injury in that same area that he never recovered from. I am concerned that he might not pitch again this year and there is a slight concern that I have that this could be career threatening.

Harrison hit 92 mph on the radar gun last night.

Sherrington: Matt Harrison's preposterous comeback attempt already further along than thought possible | Dallas Morning News

The plan Monday was that Harrison would throw 90 to 95 pitches and hang around six innings or so in the process. He didn’t meet either goal. Only walked two in five innings, and got his fastball up to 92 mph, but he struggled with his command, falling behind most hitters, as evidenced by 54 strikes in a total of 86 pitches. And when he was over the plate, he didn’t miss many bats, either.

Final line: 5 innings, 8 hits, 6 runs, all earned, 2 walks, 2 strikeouts.

“I felt like this was the best stuff I’ve had coming out of my hand,” Harrison said. “There were just some timing issues with my mechanics. I was getting some balls up, and they took advantage of it.”

I'm extremely happy with that outing.

I said I had a slight concern about it being career threatening so if that is over blowing it then I guess I am guilty. It always bothers me when the MRI results don't come back as well as expected and especially with an injury like this. This makes 2 MRIs that he has had that have brought disappointing results. They expected better results from the first one than they got with the second one so that makes me concerned.

I am ready for someone to make me feel better about Derek's injury. You say I am overblowing it so please tell me something to ease my concerns. I am more than ready for a reason for hope here.
