Series Thread: Regarding Old Managers and A's, Rangers travel to Oakland

After what we have been through with pitching injuries I don't blame you, but the team did expect him to be back before then. What I am concerned with is that the injury is not getting better at the pace that the team's doctors expected it to regardless of what any of us expected. I am concerned that the injury may be much worse than they originally thought it was. Brandon Webb had an injury in that same area that he never recovered from. I am concerned that he might not pitch again this year and there is a slight concern that I have that this could be career threatening.

I guess it could be career threatening, however I think the Rangers medical staff tend to understate recovery time in most cases. I don't think precaution is an issue and I don't really foresee it too bad at this stage or he would be shut down completely for the year. Look for him mid September

Rangers SP Martin Perez to start rehab assignment Wednesday

Rangers pitcher Martin Perez is scheduled to throw three innings during his first rehab assignment for the team's Double-A affiliate Wednesday, reports the Fort Worth Star-Telegram.

Perez is attempting to come back from Tommy John surgery, which he underwent last year. He is currently on the 60-day disabled list.

Of the three DL'd LHP ... my gut feel HSO is that Perez may be the only one that gets back into every five day game shape this year.

Vargas took a liner off the groin against Minnesota and was able to pick the ball up and throw to 1st for the out. The comment from Ned Yost cracked me up.

My friend texts me today and his parents house caught on fire and they lost everything. He and his fiance were down and all their wedding shit was there cause they are getting married locally. Her dog hid behind the couch and died from smoke inhalation. What a fucking bummer of a day for him....I can be thankful that no matter how bad my day is, it will not touch that.
