I am ready for someone to make me feel better about Derek's injury. You say I am overblowing it so please tell me something to ease my concerns. I am more than ready for a reason for hope here.

You should know by now that these initial return dates are scientific wild ass guesses. They are doing MRI's to track his progress on that muscle. It's is 90% healed and they are taking no chances, because there is no reason to do so. They do not feel he needs surgery and it just happens to be the biggest and strongest of the rotator cuff muscles. The information released to us does not indicate there are any other structures involved such as the labrum. His initial return date was guessed as mid July. Now they've pushed it back two weeks to late July or early August. So their scientific wild ass guess got pushed two weeks back. You're freaking about nothing.

Webb's injury was a combination labrum and rotator cuff injury (which I can't find specifically which muscle was torn), which were unable to be fixed despite two surgeries. Apparently Webb had shoulder concerns going all the way back to high school. So to answer your question, no he and Webb do not really share similar injuries.

hahahahaha omg this umpire...seriously dude

I watched the first 9 innings of the game and the umpire was so inconsistent. And the All American closer for TCU, Ferrell, maybe he was good in the regular season but as soon as the playoffs started he has turned into a choker deluxe.

Well, I am not looking forward to us facing Gray since we cannot even score a run against the guy.
And on top of that Nick is pitching against him and his control has been all over the place lately. Do not have a good feeling about this one.

That sounds good. How many more disappointing MRIs would it take for you to be concerned?

Maybe this is old news to you all but did you hear Rob Manfred say that he would like to use the same draft mechanism for all players including international. He felt like it would make for a "fundamental fairness for the game" which I agree. This is way overdue.

Again, you're over blowing this whole dissapointing MRI thing. The article says the inflammation is 90% healed. That's not dissapointing. As long as he's healing, his progress is what it is. You're too stuck on these initial return dates. That's not the way medicine works.

How many more MRIs that come back showing less than 100% healed would it take for you to be concerned?

If he's not throwing off a mound a month from now, I start to question whether he'll pitch this season.

How's Perez? I can't imagine not getting at least one of these guys back this year.

Slightly behind Harry. He'll be back. Whether he'll be any good this early is another question entirely.

On Holland -- given his current condition ... would you trade for him ... make him an offseason FA acquisition ... or draft him were he in today's draft ... all with the recognition that you might not be able to get him game ready until next season?

drafting really isn't plausible since Holland's value lies in his success as a major leaguer. If he had the same career trajectory with another team that he's had here, then yes I'd trade for him or (preferably) sign him as a FA.
