i give you samuels and jansen

Samuels was the 3rd pick of the draft and best tackle in his draft class. Jansen, which was a RT, was also high 2nd round pick. Im saying come in at play LT. Hey if Peters wants to put a rookie LT out there protecting his 2nd overall pick all the power to him.

Paul and Kings will be there. I dont think Morgan will be. Tough ask to send them out to the wolves at LT week 1.
We don't know Dean. You are assuming.

So Smith is the answer?

He averages 8 games a year...seriously..

not the long term answer but the answer right now to protect the #2 pick. maybe we sign another LT in FA. ITs still not over yet.

So how can he protect the qb if he isn't on the field?

Think about it.
In the last 4 years, he averages 8 games a year.
To you, that makes sense?

Ok...

i agree but if he can stay healthy its a huge win. If you want to role with the guys skinsdad just mentioned at LT then that is your opinion and you are welcome to it.

The mocks I done there will be starter quality tackles at 36 and 40 . Hell you can find starter quality RtS in round 3 or later

I see what you are saying and agree mostly.

Not to beat a dead horse but I still think we need to sign a free agent to play RT and draft a LT.

I do like Smith.

However, the numbers show that he cannot stay healthy. It's sad because he is elite.

To me, I would rather roll the dice with a rookie LT in early round 2 than gamble on a player who is getting up there in age and cannot stay on the field.
If Smith took a cheaper deal, then yes, but I am guessing he wants a final payday. He has earned it IMO.

If you get Tyron Smith, you can draft a LT and play him on the left if he is not ready. This allows him a year of growth. If Smith gets hurt, you can slide the rookie to the left side.
