Rodon was sharp tonight, but his 4 seam fastball was down about 5 mph - topping off at 93. Rodon threw a lot more breaking balls this outing and kept the batters off balance with the breaking stuff. IMO - he will definitely pitch in the playoffs.

I'm gonna throw a guess out here that it was on purpose. I could obviously be wrong, but I suspect he dialed it down to prevent any potential tweak to his arm. Aside from the lesser gas, the man was on top of it tonite and assuming the report on him in the next couple of days is ok, then I'm with you 100% that we'll see him against the Stros.

Mike Wright pitching in the 9th. I want to believe with all my heart that he's on the roster strictly to give the rest of the BP some extra breathers. Please don't tell me he'll be on the team for the postseason.

Last night's final: 7-1
Tonite's final: 6-1

Not so impressed that we won two rather meaningless games (ok, if Houston tanks and we keep winning, they're not so meaningless). But I am impressed that our pitching staff held a pretty good hitting Reds team to just 2 runs total.

I'm also impressed by the fact that despite these not-super-important games being played mid week, the Sox nonetheless drew 48k+ in this two game series. It will be interesting to see how they draw in the weekend season finale against Detroit.
