What swayed him to the pros then? I've always thought a successful college coach should find a home and stay there, ala Bobby Knight or Coach K where they never pay for a meal or open a door in their town. He'd be insane to pick a rebuilding NBA team (especially one with the highest of expectations) over UCLA. I haven't heard much about this though. Did Boston pay him?

Because he's 36...and the earning ceiling in the NBA is extremely higher....

And let's not compare the job at Butler to Duke or Indiana? Please?

6 years..$22m I think?

The problem with Kidd is they've created a situation where there is no room for growing pains

His BBall knowledge is as good as any, but that team is now expected to win big now

It's a good set-up for Kidd.

If they win big, compete for a title, actually win one, it goes on his resume and he has a head coaching gig for life.

If they lose, it'll be because the guys they brought in to "win now" were old, injury-riddled, and didn't pan out, and the guy gets a free pass for the next job.

No way you could rather Pujols.

I think there is an extremely good chance much of Arods deal is covered by insurance. This attempted comeback may be a complete failure

But of course I'd rather pujols the player today, but damn, 8 more years

I'd rather have neither...but, if I had to choose? I'd take the chance that the plantar factitious is something that will improve over time and he'll still have some productive seasons remaining....he's also younger..and isn't the most cancerous player in the sport right now.

He did get paid...I don't think it was about the money, I think it was more about the challenge...

He didn't just pick a rebuilding NBA team, he picked the Celtics...As a hoops fan, he's where a hoops fan would want to be...

He'll be a fucking legend if he's part of turning that team round...

Heard compeltely different opinions from 2 people..one said it was great, one said it was unwatchable..

I'll wait until it's on HBO or whatever.

Went to see man of steel with the kids this weekend to get out of the heat for a couple of hours.

Fuck me what a jumbled fucking mess of a movie...had no flow to it...jumped around...and the guy they got to play superman couldn't have made the character any less interesting or personable...

Shit show..don't waste the money.

If you're looking for a family pic? Go see Despicable Me 2, which is getting awesome reviews...

I saw "Kevin Hart: Let Me Explain"...Still LMAO..

I think I'll pirate The Man of Steel...

I associate cancerous in sports to the effect they have on a clubhouse

Somehow it seems Arod is truly loved by his teammates

I can't blame the fans and ownership for feeling differently

He could've had Chauncehy Billups, Joe Johnson, Paul Pierce and Antoin Walker all in their primes for a solid 10 years...

he was the worst GM in NBA history IMO....

And if it was about a NY family, you and Rock would give us the worst reviews in history, without watching an episode

Another reason I'm awesome

How many whiteys were in the audience for the Kevin Hart movie? About the same number for a Tyler Perry movie?

KG and Pierce don't play at an all star level anymore...KG can't play more than 25 minutes, and by the end of the season? It was getting painful to watch Pierce...to say he's lost a step is a huge understatement...

They're going to struggle to the 4th seed IMO....

Don't see mich difference between the 2 and 5 in the East

Any combo of Pacers Bulls Knicks Nets wouldn't surprise me

Now that I write that, it seems some awful teams in the East may be in the postseason next year

Going need great time management like Pops did in San Antonio with his aging stars in the regular season. Might be able to use Pierce and Garnet less in games vs low end teams.
