I'm with you. I'll be shocked if a coach from a mid-major has any success in his first three years. This guy has never coached players with the skill-level or egos of the guys he's going to be seeing routinely. He wasn't getting top recruits at Butler and the transition to the pros is simply going to be too much of a jolt.
I think it was Jay Bilas that made an excellent point about college coaches jumping to the pros, something along the lines of "they're just as successful as other first time pro coaches"...
Think about it, a new coach is going to a shitty team or underachieving team...
At least the college coaches have an idea of what it takes/feels like to be successful...
"Uh, yes? Hello? Is this the athletic dept. for Babson Junior College? Yes, I'd like to submit my resume for your head basketball coaching position. My name is Brad Stevens. You might have heard about what happened in Boston. Please don't hold that again me. It'll be different this time. I promise."
It's going to be interesting to see what happens. I thought the hiring of Jason Kidd seemed premature. I won't be surprised if he burns out quickly.

Brad Stevens will probably have UCLA and any other school at his doorstep should this not work out with the Celtics...Real Talk..

I heard the Lone Ranger was awful
he's quickly gaining on ARod for the coveted "worst contract in sports"
He's got 8 years, 212M left on that deal...
5 years $114 for Arod (not including bonus escalators).
Think I'd still rather have Pujols....but it's by the slimmest of margins, and really I want absolutely nothing to do with either.
one city...
Crawford, Gonzalez, Hamilton, beckett, Pujols...that has to be close to a billion dollars in dead weight...
has there been any update on becketts numb hand?
