oops! my bad!

Check his stats with the Mariners in the Playoffs too by the way - I always thought the Arod sucks in postseason was over hyped

The last four games?!? nobody got a hit!
I don't recall Jeter, Giambi, Matsui any of them getting a big hit.

Career .263/.369/.464 hitter in the postseason... .833 OPS

Compared to his .934 career reg season OPS?

Yeah..pretty bad...

a rare coherent moment from pete

Cano is the last guy I want making $25 million at 35+ years old.
Guy can't run out a ground ball now, what will he do with 100's of millions in the bank. And as he gets old, his physical gifts will erode and he doesn't have the work ethic to keep pace - IMO

PLEASE don't let him be the next franchise player!!

Thats totally fine, I get it

But to suggest the Yankees "knew " he was juicing, which by definition "knew" they were gonna get fucked on that deal, is not only completely false, a serious case can't be made with sound reasoning

The Yankees made it very clear the deal was a business move in anticipation of his record setting pace as a "Clean Player"

People conveniently forget how clear the Yankees were on that line of thinking

Who cares about ARod. He isn't worth discussion anymore. He isn't hurting the Fraudkees* at all. If he is suspended, they don't have to pay him, which frees up money to acquire other players. If he is on the DL, Fraudkees* collect insurance money.

Worse case scenario for the Fraudkees* is if ARod is on the active roster and they have to pay him $135,000 a game to play like shit.

A-Rod got a raw deal in NY the second he got traded for Soriano and whoever else it was. The best player in baseball at that time was coming to the Yankees and stealing the spot light from The Captain. So now all the Jeter fans are like "fuck you its Jeter's team", he was being booed during his first at bat because of higher percentage of Yankees fans are spoiled fucking douche bags. They only identify the team through one player.

And year in and year out, they dont win in the post season it was on A-Rod, never mind the fact that good old Number 2 can breathe a sigh of relief someone can be the scape goat. I can go on and on how this guy (whether he's an ass hole or not) never got his fair chance playing in NY. Then 2009 came, but to be honest it was never enough.

Lol. Yeah Jeter had 4 rings in his pocket the day Arod arrived

Deal with it, titles earn you a certain amount of leeway with fans in any and every sport

Why do you think Tom Brady has rightfully earned a lifetime pass from NE fans?

Agreed, but not as bad as you would think if you never saw a game.

Again, 09, he didn't make an out!
04 - he carried that team vs the Twins and to a 3-0 lead vs the Sox. Not his fault the team had a 1 in 100 year collapse.

Every other year 05, 06, 07, 10, 11, 12, the entire Yankees offense was awful!!
Reason #1 that I was excited for a new style of ball this year/

Stick to babbling nonsense about irrelevants like the Royals and Raiders...

Manny was loved in Boston...and a lot of Sox fans would like to see him back this year for the stretch run...

Just doesn't make business sense.

Every documented case of PEDs up to that point showed evidence of a player eventually breaking down once testing became tougher

Yeah don't buy that the Yankees gave him 250 at 32 knowing his breaking down would be happening within a few years

It makes business sense when you have more money than you can fathom. Even if they made 4% interest on that investment in half those years. I'm sure they made it back in 2009. They're the Yankees, the problem with that contract is that they dont want to pay luxury tax anymore. Cant say I blame them. Its not like they held A-Rod at gun point either.

I think it's just because its A-Rod and how much money he makes, the contract looks terrible. But they knew he was on PEDs, just like they knew Giambi was.

Pete...games 4-7? He went 2-17...he's the best player on your team, and was fucking horrendous during the biggest postseason collapse in MLB history...

I wouldn't look at 04 as a postseason that Arod should be applauded for....

They also made it very clear they wanted nothing to do with him after he opted out....

They got bent over a barrel...it happens...but that was a horrible contract, regardless of perceived clean-ness, the second he signed it...

It was the one major decision Hank was allowed to make, and we haven't seen him since.

But I don't dis-agree

The problem is that there are no useful players available in free agency to replace him with. If you let Cano walk then you better plan on building your team around pitching for the next few years, because the hitting is going to be mediocre. An old Tex, an old Ichiro, a non-impactful Gardner. Grandy will probably be let go too. Where is your offense going to come from?

That makes less sense than your original statement

"Yankees had absolutely no idea he was on roids"

"Giambi, Sheffield, Pettitte and Clemens were using and A-Roid asked them to stop because they were ruining the integrity of the game."

Makes zero sense dude. If they knew, he doesn't get that deal, Period!

At least 150million of that deal will be wasted money and you're suggesting the Yankees knew that going in

Makes no sense

Fuck me, Down, the entire team hit like .115 for the final 4 games. Can't put that solely on A-Rod.
