Profar should be playing everyday versus RHPs, I don't mind him sitting versus LHPs, he's been awful

Switch the pitchers and the same holds true for Rua versus LHPs.... though he's been better versus RHPs lately

I divided hitters into 3 classes essentially, Everyday/above average, useful/not great, terrible/sit down

By the numbers (minimum 50 PAs), we have 3 above average hitters versus RHPs that should be in there everyday without question: Mazara (RF), Desmond (CF) and Profar (UTIL/DH),

Followed in order, and probably should be in there most days, by Beltre (3B), Moreland (1B), Odor (2B), Holyday (C), Rua (LF) and Andrus (SS)..... that's 9 hitters

With Chirinos, Fielder, Choo & Wilson at the bottom... I know Choo is staying in at the expense of Rua probably, but for the sake of the numbers I left it as is... I'm actually ok with this, as I think Choo's early reverse split will normalize soon

Out of catchers, its been Holyday/Chirinos pretty high over Wilson

By the numbers (minimum 20 PAs), we have 7 above average hitters versus LHPs that should be in there everyday, without question: In order it's been Choo (RF), Wilson/Chirinos (C/DH), Rua (LF), Desmond (CF), Andrus (SS), Beltre (3B), Odor (2B)

Followed by Moreland (1B), who's been serviceable but not great (once again that's 9 hitters, if you decided to DH Chirinos since you have 3 catchers, or you could choose one of these guys from the bottom)

With Mazara, Fielder & Profar at the bottom in that order

Odor and especially Choo have had reverse splits, though I think Choo's will normalize with more ABs, but he's been killing LH pitching since he came back, been pretty meh versus RH pitching

All said and done, Fielder has no business sniffing the lineup, he's at the bottom in production no matter what hand the pitcher uses


I know that's a lot of words, and I've made these posts before, but the stark reality of Fielder's uselessness is becoming even more clear as the numbers come into play, and this is even with him showing signs of life
