Who knows if anyone will be effective for either team. He threw a simulated game yesterday (45 pitches) used all his pitches and looked good, according to reports. He had the same injury in May and came back to win 4 in a row giving up just over 2 runs per outing.

All things considered, he's a solid 3 guy in the rotation. Hell, Lackey is only 3-3 with a 4.30 ERA since joining StL. Might there also be a legit concern of his effectiveness?

The Dodgers are an organization of losing for going on three decades. It's not easy to change a culture of losing - it festers. However, this is not the first time Kershaw has melted down in the playoffs. And our bullpen gave our weak manager little options. Keep Kershaw in, lose the lead. Bring in the bullpen and the game is virtually over.

I feel bad for the guys in here that see everything through a blue lens all the time. Your expectations were high. But this is not a team. It's a few stars thrown together with a quick fix of cash blown on castaway free agents finished off with an awful bullpen. The Cardinals proved their mettle.... again. That's an organization of winners. Guys approach each at bat and know the situation. A shame to see the Dodgers hitting so well and then the one sure thing we had all year give it away. But it's what this team does against elevated competition. Our weaknesses are exploited by good teams.

Probably the most unbelievable Dodger loss I have ever watched.... I'm going back to Jack Clark in '85. Jogging my brain, but this one, Kershaw up 6-1 and giving it all back. Wow. He just does not have playoff mettle. Hope he finds it on day.

I think new blood, young arms and new identity can one day make this team a legit playoff team. For now, it's just playing in the playoffs, not competing.
