Refresh my memory, was that playoff shutout streak when he played for the Coyotes, or was it during his tenure with the Ducks while they had one of the meanest defensive corps ever assembled?

Next thing you know people are going to be saying that Osgood's two consecutive SCF shutouts were impressive, not just a result of a shell shocked Pens team... :D

You're thinking of the Pronger era Ducks. Bryzgalov did this when they were the jade and eggplant Mighty Ducks - a 6th Seed, who would later get knocked out of the playoffs by Pronger's Oilers.

Looks like the Islanders will get a chance to pick Bryzgalov up on waivers in a couple of years.

Ah, you're right. Must have some bong resin between my ears.

Well he's a UFA and its his choice (assuming a contract would be offered to him). I respect his decision but I have no idea why he felt the need to make it public at this point in time.

People willing to show up to watch them play?

Hey BlueandWhtie, the only thing that is better about your country is that your PM is more Conservative than our President. And you guys like good sports (unlike professional basketball). After that... uhhhh... go Canada.. I guess....?

Its basically going from 1 extreme to another in more ways than one. It wouldn't surprise me if there were a few players around the league who feel the same way as him and others who feel the exact opposite. But again, I'm not sure why he felt it was necessary to voice his opinion. Does he think that his ultimatum will somehow affect whether or not the team moves? :L

I really hope every competing team offers him a lower contract than what Winnipeg offers (assuming they move). Would make this comment actually come back to hurt him.

I truly wonder how much of it is climate-based versus pressure-cooker based. Let's be honest, some players don't like playing in a city where hockey is the only game in town and/or the media covers hockey pretty much 24/365. Some players thrive in that kind of environment. Bryz grew in up Russia and last time I checked, it's not exactly balmy during the winter months.

He's an upcoming UFA and I'm sure he'll have several teams interested. If I were the Coyotes/Jets, I'd be more concerned about re-signing (or potentially losing) Keith Yandle via an offer sheet.

Exactly what I meant when I said it was like going from 1 extreme to another in more ways than 1. The weather being 1 way and the hockey culture being another. I'm sure there are other differences that factor into his decision too. And like you said, some players like that type of attention and others don't. There has to be more to it than the weather otherwise he wouldn't have mentioned that he'd consider playing in the KHL.
