these discussions are probably for 2017

which is where we could tell them that we will have build up our stadium and stuff since then.

I wouldn't be so pessimistic.

well shitt sherlock how the hell are we going to make it into one of the 4 when none of the 5 want us now?

I'm afraid we are just a hair too far out of position to make the jump.

The Big 10 will not want us in. Not the PAC. SEC probably doesn't care one way or the other which means our only real advocate would be the Big12.
Our only hope is if ESPN has much say.

46+2, thanks for the info. I hope you are right, I am so tired of the Tobacco Road hoops cabal bullshit.

As an aside, you are correct in not leaking more than what you have, for obvious reasons. Just update when you can.

what I'd like to know is how serious the conversation is ... is it a conversation for putting the finishing touches on something or "fact-finding-for-making-informed-decision" meeting?

and as long as my team is ok in the end, that's all one can hope for .. pisser for the universities that miss the boat for sure .. i think that both virginia teams will be fine .. they both have a lot to offer

But maybe there will be some room. Don't give up hope.

Does this mean that VT and GT go to the B1G??? I would love to see that.

Let's just say the geography has changed a bit.

It's somewhat of a guess on my part -- but if this ended up with 4 super conferences and the ACC were odd-man out (as opposed to the Big12), the Big10 would get at least 3 (maybe all 4) of its remaining spots from the ACC (depending on where ND lands) and my guess would be BC, GT, UVA, MD, UNC, Duke (with Rutgers and VT a possibility) ... with UNC and GT being their top choices for many reasons. VT could end up in the B1G but I think it's more likely they end up in the SEC, if anywhere.

I don't think that VT ends up in the SEC, personally.

Yeah I feel the same way. With the way UVa was 'forced' to go to bat to get VT into the ACC, I feel that VT will be 'forced' to return the favor for UVa.

I don't think that is going to happen. I don't think that UVA is interested in what is unfolding.

so we're seeing some sort of major shakeup here now are we?

Maybe the "Big' boys are as tired of all this realignment crap as the rest of us and want to just nail it down now rather than wait to see how teams continue to migrate.

Pull the band aide off fast............
