well...yesterday, today, or tomorrow works for me.

Thinking McClain's would be smart to sign in Dallas and be done with it. It's that smart part that has me concerned a bit.

Assuming Carter walks and we resign McClain, do we also bring back Durant or is he expendable with the edition of Rivers?

I'm with you. I'm thinking for not a ton of money we can make LB a strength and cross it off our list of needs on draft day entirely. With both McClain and Lee' injury hstory we need to go 4 deep, but even that would be pretty easy. Whoever is cheaper out of Durant and Carter would be fine with me. Obviously Carter played well at the end of the year, is younger and has much more portential, but we've said that before with him...

I don't think Rivers is anything but a guy to compete for a roster spot. Do we know yet if he has any guaranteed money in that deal?

I'd like to see um bring Durant back. I think Carter plays for the highest $$$ and don't expect that to be Dallas.
I think Rivers fits the mix for a strongside type rotation guy that could be coached up by Rod and staff

IRVING, Texas -- The Dallas Cowboys have reached an agreement with linebacker Jasper Brinkley on a two-year deal, according to a source.

Brinkley has to pass a physical before it becomes official.

The Cowboys have lost Justin Durant (Atlanta Falcons) and Bruce Carter (Tampa Bay Buccaneers) in free agency, Brinkley would become the second free agent to join the roster with Keith Rivers, who played for the Buffalo Bills last season.

Brinkley, who turns 30 in July, started 11 of 16 games for the Minnesota Vikings in 2014 and had 54 tackles, one sack and one forced fumble. After a three-year run with the Vikings from 2009-12, he played for the Arizona Cardinals in 2012.

Brinkley is a middle linebacker and two-down player, which could allow the Cowboys to use Sean Lee at the weak-side linebacker position as he returns from a torn ACL. The Cowboys have considered using Lee, who played middle linebacker in 2013, on the weak side in case Rolando McClain returned in 2015.

McClain, who the coaches credited with 108 tackles in 12 games in 2014, is a free agent and the team has had discussions about him returning. He is facing a four-game fine for violating the NFL’s substance-abuse policy, according to sources.

Seems Lee to weakside is in the plans with or without McClain
