Just try walking in the West at night. If the big cats don’t get you (panthers?) the snakes will.

I have horrible aim in these types of games, so I hear ya. But maybe you need to snipe a wolf? When I run into them, I load them with lead from my semi-auto shotgun. I don’t think I have ever gotten anything above a poor wolf pelt.

To get perfect pelts you have to use a bow and arrow. And even then it rarely ever happens. I think I only had like 3.

You have to kill the right animal. When you look at the animal, there is a small triangle next to the name of the animal. You can only get perfect pelts from those with all 3 dots, though even that isn’t a guarantee.

I would love to snipe a wolf, I've been hunting them for days. I don't see them, but next thing they are on top of me. And you can only really get their perfect pelt, by snipe. Most of my camp is upgraded with perfect pelts. Except for those wolves

Wait until they are close and grab your arm. Arthur will pull the bolt back and rip one into it's skull. It's not easy to survive it but when you do you can ride away with a bunch of nice pelts.

Not necessarily, sniped headshots from my rolling block rifle do the trick, smaller animals varmint rifle. It also helps to get the trinket crafted from the fence, from the parts of the legendary buck

The buck coincidently happened to be my first legendary kill. And his drop is the best of all of them.

Speaking of trinkets, where do you find all the other stuff the fence needs (like the cuffs, for example)? Are they just random drops, or are they uniques?

Some are unique, some are random. Raven claw talisman is good, slows dow weapon degradation by 20%, boar tusk talisman is also good, decreases speed that the horse stamina and health by 10%. Ok the talisman is better than trinkets

The map that Hosea gives you kinda helps, but basically you just have to trip over them. When you wander into their territory, you will get a notification. Then go into dead eye and you should find clues.

You can't get all the legendary animals, but you can get most available in chapter 2

A main mission starts you going after legendary bear. Moose is in the northeast region at the top by the waterfalls. While Bison is northwest not to forward of lake

Like cals mentioned, Hosea give you a map that you can use but I honestly find it kind of hard to read. So I like to pretend Youtube is a more detailed map that I found, get the general location, and then start my hunt

While hunting for woodpeckers, which is annoying, I stumbled on a cougar who was messing with a npc than sees me and runs after them I'm on footing running for life. It gives up chase, I do have pretty good stamina. After I seen he gave up chasing me. I slowly begin to go back to hunt him he is hiding in some tree bush I sniped him for the perfect pelt, also stumbled on two wolves attacking an npc help my spanish speaking friend with sniping one and killing the other. I sniped another later giving me two more perfect wolf pelts and one cougar. But still without that woodpecker, good pelts aren't good enough. The area with crap load of birds, skunks, elks, and various small animals is Roanoke Valley and Annesburg.

Been playing this off and on when I got some Redbox discounts. I think I'm only like 13% through the story. I just freed Micah and while I was heading back to camp, I bought a treasure map for $5.

There are 107 missions for the main story. That doesn’t include random encounters, stranger missions, or side missions you find like roberies with camp members. So I literally have no idea at which point you are at. This game is so massive it’s great.

It was a point where I met some settler that was trying to leave the area and trying to sell it for $10 and you can negotiate him down (don’t remember the location I met him at but it was on top of a cliff). I really am enjoying the game as well and will definitely buy it at some point. I just hope the endings are better than Far Cry 5. But like a previous user was doing, I am playing God of War right now since it had a good discount on the PS Store during their Black Friday sale.
