5 years in the league and 1,069 yards total.

Using an overpaid Tevin Coleman as a barometer of what he should make seems dumb to me. I think he may end up good but I'm not so sure he has proven that yet

Mostert was 3rd or 4th on the 49ers RB depth chart going into 2019, (Juszczyk at FB with McKinnon at TB). He was a well-paid, under used, by-committee RB. I doubt any team sees him as a $4M+ #1 RB. He's expendable and he has no leverage.

Often I say teams should just ignore most trade requests, in this case the 9ers, should publicly say best offer gets him and make the trade.

haha. dude is 28 years old, barely has 1,000 regular season rushing yards and thinks he should make more than $6.6 million over the next 2 seasons?

no one is going to trade for him because no other team is going to pay significant $$$ to a player like that

Colemans 4 years were in spot duty, when he got the chance to start for ATL he fell flat, when he got the chance for SF, he fell flat.

Coleman has been frustrating to watch for sure. He had a couple of good games that I can remember but too often he made poor decisions running the ball. Both Brieda and Mostert were better runners.

He needs to be paid like a #1 running back I guess? After over 200 yards in the championship game I say trade his ass

RB Raheem Mostert requests trade from 49ers

According to Rapoport, Tessler said Mostert's request is to simply be in line with the highest-paid running back on the team, which is Tevin Coleman, who is set to make $4.55 million in 2020. Mostert has two years left on his current deal and is due $2.57 million in base salary this season and $2.87 million in 2021, per OverTheCap
Most folks here would be overjoyed making $2.57 million a year.

Definitely and his a little over $3M salary seems somewhat fair. I don't blame him for wanting more long-term security but he hasn't proved to be consistent or even worth being a starting RB.

Why not win the starting job and prove yourself to get big money? He couldn't be in a better situation. No guarantee he does much for another team. He is 28 so I still understand his play here.
he was paid by the Niners to be a high priced Special teamer. he is now their starting RB. I dont blame him for what he is asking. Also it is reasonable. he isnt asking to be paid like a top NFL RB. he wants to be paid like a top Niner RB. Which isnt a big jump in #'s.
He wont be traded, so now the question is. Will the niners play nice & say here have a bump in pay you deserve it, or will they play hardball. I honestly dont know where they are cap wise.

Coleman is a better and more proven RB anyway. Giving guys raises based on 1/4 of a season is how a team screws the pooch on the cap.

Mostert can go rip it up this year and then ask for way more than 4.5 in 2021. But SF shouldnt pay a guy based on 5/19 of a season

he outplayed Coleman in every way. Asking for another million or 1.5 mil wont ever screw the cap. Quit over exaggerating.
The Niners obviously think he is worth more than Coleman since they have him starting over him even though They have to pay Coleman. No team wants to pay a guy to sit on the bench. that alone speaks volumes on how they feel about Mostert.

Sure one guy wont screw the cap but when 12 guys have great 4-5 game stretches and they all want 1.5 million more because you gave it to Mostert based on that then what? Mostert is the starter but hes not locked there. If he goes 28 carries for 104 the first 2 weeks he will be sitting real quick like.

Most RBs are a dime a dozen. Mostert is better off betting on himself this year then asking for way more than 4.5 next year

Sure. but most of those 12 guys are starting. (to have 4 or 5 good games) which means they are already getting paid.
BTW he outplayed the guys you are saying just replace him with. So why would the niners want to go backwards over a million dollars? Again we arent talking breaking the bank type contracts (like Zeke's) they are talking another million or so dollars for their own starter.

Way to extrapolate that. Totally not true. But glad you typed it all. Our conversation was based on your statements about Coleman.

you're statement using strictly ypc is flawed and you know it. Like I said the same as Djax is doninant because he had 20+ypc. That's fantastic when half his games he has 2 catches for 40 yards. But that ypc looks great. Have a good one dude. You couldn't really figure out the point or topic.
you should read page 1 again.

I clearly addressed the thread topic with my opinion about 5 games not being a large sample size behind the best run blocking line in football last season. You quoted me when you brought Coleman into the conversation with your opinion he fell flat as a starter in Atlanta. I pointed out 167 carries for 4.8 average in a two back system was not a dime a dozen season

Coleman was so good as a starter with the Falcons that they let his ass leave in free agency. Your take is as cold as ice.

And since when do teams pay people only for what they’ve done in the past?
Buy a fucking clue. The Falcons had a two back system and elected to pay the other guy. They have a shit load of $$ tied elsewhere and not going to pay two backs.

However...your troll ass backed into a good statement with your last sentence. Perhaps thats the point Mostert should look at before he demands a trade to a lesser oline.

I'm grasping that I replied to your posts that replied to my statement about the topic. Stop being so sensitive when your statement is challenged...it's not becoming of you
