Fourney isnt Reid's type, would truly be shocked if he went that route. Freeman is, but don't see that either. KC's cap situation is second only to the Rams as the worst in the league, theyre not taking on a big veteran salary.

They either stand pat, or draft one...and that one could be a real threat, or he could be just another dude.

Agreed that Fournette in KC is a weird fit. Reid's style would be to get some sort of veteran that is on the tail end of their career and wouldn't mind being in a timeshare. Veach's style would be to get someone who is younger but flamed out on another team already.

I was not impressed with Darwin Thompson last year. Spencer Ware seems to have been a one year wonder and while he can do everything in the system I'm not sure he is in the Chiefs plans at all.

Fantasy people usually look for teams who trade up for a RB in the draft and the Chiefs have almost no draft capital. My gut tells me that the Chiefs probably are looking at other teams for an RB but not an expensive 'workhorse' like Fournette.

Can we re-open discussion on Clyde now? ;)

Honestly, I never was thinking “First RB off the board”, but here we are. Gotta figure the Chiefs didn’t draft him to be a complimentary back...

Knock yerself out. I would agree they didn't draft him to be a complimentary piece, but they screwed the pooch. The Giants took the first tackle, but not the best tackle, the Raiders took the first WR, but not the best..the Chiefs took the first RB, but not even remotely close to the best. They may not want him to be complimentary, but I sure don't see how he's anything but. He's Damien Williams, only slower. Hate the pick..hate, hate, hate it.

Really!? I love the pick.. was high on Edwards-helaire before the draft, with this landing spot he just became the top rookie on my board. To me he is a MJD/Westbrook hybrid with amazing hands. If you guys thought Kareem Hunt was good in KC just wait til you see Clyde out there.

I swear, if I didn't know better I'd say Clyde must have f**ked your sister or something! LOL! I don't know what you DIDN'T see from him in the College Playoffs, but I remember being VERY impressed with him and Dobbins and actually LESS so with Etienne (But was willing to listen to the experts on him before he ended up returning to Clemson)...

Just trying hard to think of what you see this guy as? Like a TJ Yeldon type of bust or something?

I just remembered watching him and making a mental note of the name for fantasy draft purposes. But in KC? If he is given a meaningful role, it is going to be Kareem Hunt type numbers IMO.

And BTW... Interesting factoid I saw on CEH... He led all FBS RBs in Broken Tackles... So, I mean, if you're really concerned about how "slow" he is... There's that. :)

i dont know if thats true.....it may be due to volume. I know last year montgomery had a ridiculous rate. I know zach moss had the 3rd highest broken tackle rate of any RB over the past 6 seasons. But thats rate, not necessarily number............since moss was hurt some.

Ah, clarification... Led all of this years draft eligible RBs in the category is what it said.

Edwards-Helaire leads NFL Draft in broken tackles

Anyway, as a Bear fan I definitely see how the stat can translate. Montgomery didn't have a stellar year, but our offense was trash. Hardly his fault. However, he certainly excelled at fighting for extra yards.

Montgomery set some sort if record last year in NCAA broken tackles. Steelers pride was all over that stat, Monty did alright, but he was no stud tackle breaker in the NFL.... I'd like to find whatever pimple faced geek counts those and kick him in the junk.
.I watched three regular season games, conference opponents, can't recall all three as it was months ago, but I saw crap from him, absolute crap

Give Montgomery a break... He was a MONSTER at turning 3 yard losses into 1 yard gains last year!

I don't know... I enjoyed the highlight video here...

I mean he looks fast enough to me. We don't see many RBs breaking 80 yarders anymore, so not too stressed about it. He looks to be a good weapon in the passing game and definitely checks the box on making people miss/being elusive... My only question might be his pass blocking I guess?

your next mission: find a college highlight reel that doesn't make the prospect look awesome.

I don't do highlight videos, theres no context as to game flow, score, situation, everyone looks great in highlight bids..that's why they're highlight bids. Ameer Abdullah has perhaps the best highlight video I've ever seen outside of Bo Jackson, and his career has been a waste, outside of special teams

I've been pretty obviously on the Clyde bandwagon for awhile now but I figured that the Chiefs were looking to trade down into rd2 to take a RB. Apparently the only player people wanted was Love so once he left the board then the Chiefs couldn't trade back....but they were always taking Clyde apparently. In an interview they mentioned Mahomes basically handpicked him and they had the pick mostly figured out around 4 or 5 pm.

My 2 thoughts are that the Chiefs not having ammo kept them from maneuvering up for a CB or LB and they couldn't trade down.

Clyde is absolutely going to start. Damien Williams is faster but thats it. Clyde is going to be way better at moving the chains and way better in the red zone. What he isn't going to do is give you those 60 yd TD runs that Hunt or Williams can provide.

Well no shit, really... I get that...

So I'm to assume that when ya'll fantasy football guys say you're "Looking at Tape" that it means that you're playing back an entire game back? No, typically you look for a reel to see what the guy can do. There is some sick lateral movement on this guy and some impressive elusiveness... If you want to show me "That time that spin move didn't work"? Knock yourself out! There were times when Walter Payton got tackled too!

David Montgomery Vert - 28.5, Broad - 10 ft 1
CEH Vert - 39.5, Broad - 10 ft 3

Different tiers of explosiveness. CEH has a 10yd split the same as Dillon and Hasty.
