Bill James GameScore Formula is very basic. You start with 50pts, add 1pt for each out recorded-add 2pts for each inning completed after 4th innining-add 1pt for each K-subtract 2pts for each hit allowed-subtract 4pts for each earned run-subtract 2pts for each unearned runs-subtract 1pt for each walk. There is no penalty for a HBP. Both Kerry Wood and Gage Wood(no relation) hit one batter.
MLB-Kerry Wood, Chicago Cubs, May 6th 1998 with 105 against Houston
50baseline+27outsrecorded+20K’s+10 IP after 4 minus-2 for one hit=105
NCAA-Gage Wood, Arkansas Razorbacks, June 16th with 106 vs Murray St
50baseline+27outsrecorded+19K’s+10 IP after 4 = 106
